Room at the inn for bloggers in need

[Study on survival of the kindest. --lambert]

[Readers, if you would add this link in comments at other blogs, that would be great. I've been looking for other lists like this one, and I don't see any. --lambert]

A lot of us are in need, but I asked around, and here are some people that immediate assistance would really help. Go read.

Our own single payer advocate DCBlogger (eviction)

Lance Mannion (car FAIL)

Welcome Back to Pottersville (UI cuts)

The Red Queen (saving the kid)

Please do what you can. Marginal is not insignificant. It's cold out there!

NOTE Great quote from Willem de Kooning at the Red Queen's place:

The trouble with being poor is that it takes up all of your time.

Yep!

UPDATE Thanks to Naked Capitalism for showing... dare I say it, some solidarity.

UPDATE One more: Dakinikat.

She really led the way in terms of reorienting the blog away from partisan stuff towards issues with her early single payer posts. Here's hoping her New Year's resolution to live inside happens!

Gawd, these are awful times.

and thanks to everyone who was kind enough to give. I am very very very close to my goal of spending the New Year indoors. Just a few more donations and the wolf will be shoved from the door, at least for now.

I cannot begin to express my gratitude for the Corrente community.
