Joe Biden's mother-in-law died. No jokes, please. This is a terrible burden to carry for anyone at any time, let alone in the midst of a campaign, let alone this campaign.

I have to admire his ability to forge ahead
I thought one of his best spots in the debate was in his discussion of losing his wife and child--in a car crash?--and having his other children injured. I didn't know this about him. It didn't seem gratuitous to bring it up, since Palin seemed to try to corner the market on parenting. I have my beefs with Joe, but not many could come through such an experience and manage to perform at such a level (whatever you think of his policies, he is certainly an active Senator).
