Shark not jumped

AP:

Scientists have confirmed the second case of a "virgin birth" in a shark. In a study reported Friday in the Journal of Fish Biology, scientists said DNA testing proved that a pup carried by a female Atlantic blacktip shark in the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center contained no genetic material from a male.

Thank Goddess!

Unto us a shark pup is given...

Like a virgin, or rather...

Like a fish needs a bicycle.

Does that mean the shark was a virgin?

Just asking.

One of my pick-up strategies is to use my scientific cred to point out that the Y chromosome appears to be on the decline* and men won't be needed in the future. That we [men] need to start kissing women's tails now, to get ready for the future. Alternatively, when I want to be a manly man, I point out the same thing in the presence of men and say we need to subjugate women now since our time as top alpha males is limited.

* Yeah, OK, estimates suggest this will happen in 100,000 years if it happens at all.

I get the funny

But you'd be a better ally to women, if you'd point out that fact to all the manly men you know.

i can haz hillary nao?

I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.

G, askin' for trouble

Why not just ask your friends to introduce you to their friends? Most successful way to meet people to date they say...

All I ask is for some concise evidence

That there really is a wolf, not that some random people are saying heinous things, but that McCain and Palin or genuine surrogates are specifically fanning these flames.

I'm not skeptical that they might, but I'd like to be shown that they are.

Note that I have made similar requests regarding the connection of the Obama campaign to the prevalent misogyny during Hillary's campaign.

My bad, this was meant for the thread about...

... the allegations that McCain and Palin are directly fomenting racism. I've linked back to here from there.

I'm with you here VL -- the links to the misogyny and racism

strike me as highly ephemeral.

Here are a couple of posts to look at re: the race smears...

... and the misogyny, and how traceable they are to the Obama campaign:

Moving on...

I'd rather eat ground glass than relitigate the primary, so probably some concern troll will demand that I do it, but IMNSHO for those down in the trenches of the threads the misogyny was obvious in (a) the CDS directed at Hillary and (b) the whole WWTSBQ talking point, all the way from February to the demands placed on her for the convention (all of which had never been applied to any previous candidate), and (c) the odd passivity of the Dem leadership in addressing any of it (I grant that (c) presumes (a) and (b)) -- all the way up to our favorite non-cable subscriber, HoHo. Regarding Shakes's list, first, see point (c), and second: "in the media" should really be revised to "Obama supporters in the media." Personally, I model the Obama Movement as having a campaign component, a permanent institutional presence (database, funding), an online component, and a press component. It's artificial to divide the components, and as we learned to our cost with the Conservative Movement, a bad idea tactically and strategically.

This is important

I model the Obama Movement as having a campaign component, a permanent institutional presence (database, funding), an online component, and a press component. It’s artificial to divide the components, and as we learned to our cost with the Conservative Movement, a bad idea tactically and strategically.

To borrow VL's question: So what does that make an Obama WH like?
