Shorter NV Unions: FOX is Balanced News and We Trust Them

Sigh. Some people will never learn, it seems.

D. Taylor, Secretary-Treasurer of the 60,000-member Culinary Union called on those who have focused on Fox to look at the larger political picture. “Nevada was chosen as an early caucus state because of its diversity. Our members are diverse, the State’s voters are diverse. There is no purity in newscasts. We can all find flaws with each channel. What we know is that FOX is the most-watched newscast and that it will be a positive thing for the people who watch FOX’s newscast to have exposure to the issues and voices that will be participating in the Nevada presidential caucus. When we limit ourselves to only those that we agree with, everybody loses.”

As Matt asks, what’s wrong then with co-hosting? FOX and Air America sound like a decent mix to me.

We already decided that there is little purpose to going on FOX, if you’re a member of the “defeatocrat” party. Feel free to review the over 800 examples of how FOX is not objective, clearly biased towards the Republican party, and otherwise filled with people who are literally incapable of dealing with liberals and Democrats fairly.

Actually, the more I think about this, the more I’m all in favor of it. Because when the debate does nothing to bring new voters to the Democratic party, when it sidelines whatever discussion the candidates wants to have, because of some “gotcha” moment the FOX hosts will create that is then spread about the media for a week or more later, and when the union is forced to explain why it supported a network that phrased labor questions to candidates in ways that propagate false and anti-union memes- I’m going to laugh. A great big belly laugh of schadenfreude. And then I’m going to smack this letter in the faces of those who said “give ’em a chance” like a week old carp.

Perhaps then parts of the establishment in the party will understand that there are just some folks in the media who cannot be trusted. Ever.

Our Lord His Grey Highness reminds us of Fox’s “balance.” Reality just isn’t as strong in their offices, it seems.
