[Welcome, Open Left readers. See response here. UPDATE: To be clear on the sequence, Sirota tells Clintonites to "slither back to their ratholes." Pushback occurs, via posts like this, and email. Sirota then calls the posters stalkers. The sequence of bullying followed by STFU
will be obvious to anybody who experienced the primaries. -- lambert]
Along with his "if I offended" fauxpology, David Sirota writes one of the most bizarre blog posts I've read in some time, as he further elucidates who must STFU (you) and who mustn't (David and any "progressives" agile enough to agree with him at every turn).

As my friend in college used to say...
What's the hair 'cross his ass lately?
He Just Discovered
there is no god.
Very disorienting and tends to make you pissy at all those atheists who tried to tell you so (and who aren't shy about reminding you of that now).

I saw him speak
just before the convention in Denver. It was the strangest thing, because I knew (or at least I thought I knew) he was anti-Hillary and pro-Obama. Yet, the things he was saying, the policies he was talking about, the things that a Democratic president and Congress could and should accomplish, were Hillary's positions, not Obama's. I was confused. Was he supporting Hillary now? Had he changed? He did not mention any candidate's names - I think he was trying to sound impartial and above-it-all.
Perhaps he is suffering from some kind of internal schism, where he supports Hillary's policy positions but can't stand her as a person, and loves Obama. Maybe it's making him crazy now.
Self-aggrandize, much?
His link is to fauxgressive paper-of-record, HuffPo, showing that the major 'policy concession' was to reduce the tax cuts by $75b, leaving them at $275b. And part of the cuts were to dump a $15k home-buying credit, which, whatever the economic sense or nonsense of, hands Republicans a ready-made, gold-plated "Why do you hate America?" mid-term ad to use against progressives. Forget mid-terms, forever Democrats will own being against motherhood-apple pie-home ownership. If only there were some sort of Democratic Party-inspired economic plan that would keep people in their homes and help stem the race to the bottom of the economy that the Democrats could have countered with!
Bizarrely, no one is saying 'progressives' should stfu on policy, just on the CDS.
Best comment: "But David is relevant. David can get on tv regularly."
Reasonable men adapt themselves to their environment; unreasonable men try to adapt their environment to themselves. Thus all progress is the result of the efforts of unreasonable men. -- George Bernard Shaw
Best comment, indeed
Thanks for that, valhalla. Comedy gold!

Remember your Beavis and Butt-Head.
"Why is Tom Petty famous?"
"Because he's on TV."
"Why is he on TV?"
"Because he's famous."
Periodically when he's feeling down
David launches attacks in order to boost his appeal.
It's the only explanation that makes sense.

I'm not such a bad guy once you get to know me.
Ouch!
Wish I'd thought of that....
