[ It’s just as e. e. cummings wrote, referring to the public’s conduct at our own father’s once-famous theater (click here, see footnote 8):
Humanity i love you
because you would rather black the boots of
success than enquire whose soul dangles from his
watch-chain which would be embarrassing for both
parties and because you
unflinchingly applaud all
songs containing the words country home and
mother when sung at the old howard ]
could there be a more apt epitaph for the dying corporate media?

my family has subjected me to ridicule because of my jaundiced view of the press.
Wonder of wonders - this week my husband pointed me to BBC’s coverage of their own bungling reportage of the collapse of WTC building number 7.
He: Look at this! (outraged)
Me: Ho-hum. What’s new?
How can someone stand in front of the WTC landscape and report on a not yet event and not know that the building was still standing? How can they call themselves reporters, much less journalists?
Was there no one there, even a messenger, who knew which building was #7?
i'm really beginning to like ee cummings

FWIW, I have been glancing at AmericaBlog this week. Nothing about FISA.
I hope you got your shots first.
What passes for commentary at that site may be contagious.

Ah, yes, press corps. Good name.
You still read that trash...
Not I. Ditto for Kos and Huffy.
