The intrepid Clark Newhall has set up another single-payer fax blast, this time to the Senate Finance Committee, plus the White House.
There is also an 800 number you can call (I haven't tried that yet) to leave a message for the President or for Baucus - 800-578-4171.
You can donate here to support these efforts.
As Mr. Newhall says:
It's free. It's easy. it's free and easy. Do it once. Do it twice. Do it until they drop.

attention Montana
we really need single payer supporters from Montana to participate in this!!!
Thank you, gob--Where else have you posted this?
We should spread this around.
I only post here.
Time and nerves prevent me from investing in other sites. So feel free to spread it around wherever.
We will push and push and push until some larger force makes us stop.
I had trouble
with the link...the text of the letter was fine but the right margin listing senators and where it looks like you fill in stuff was cut off, leaving just blank screen for @ the right 1/4 of my browser page.
Nevertheless, thanks for the link. I will check again tomorrow, but wait to forward email to friends until this gets cleared up.
Worked for me!
Since my home state Senators weren't listed, I sent a courteous note to Senator Baucus, saying I would contribute to anyone who challenged him in a primary.
First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win. -- Mahatma Gandhi
Done
Though the derisive laughter of the committee and cohorts doesn't give me much hope.
Blue Lyon
Derisive laughter?
I like to think it was nervous laughter...
PS: thanks for the headline fix, Lambert. Gotta sign up for that course in marketing.
We will push and push and push until some larger force makes us stop.
Sounded like snotty laughter to me.
They are sitting in the catbird seat. Do you really think they feel nervous when they can pull out lines like "the best employers in the world" and the folks back home, who aren't paying attention, will just eat it up and put this guy right back where he is now? Will anyone primary him? Or will the state party and the other PTBs squelch any attempt to unseat a guy with seniority.
Some days I just wallow in despair at the broken-ness of our so-called democracy. Sorry.
Blue Lyon
I agree with you about the brokenness -
the Congresscritters' behavior on this issue is beyond blatant.
Sometimes I do believe the insurance companies are nervous -- but they could just as well be at the table because they see how to turn health care "reform" into an opportunity to drain their victims even more efficiently.
We will push and push and push until some larger force makes us stop.
Sent fax this am but I wonder
if any effort will get thru to their thick skulls when they are wearing kevlar helmets made from health ins lobbyist cash.
