Does New York have any state single-payer legislation?

I see them working on it in California and Pennsylvania and wonder if New York has joined in.

Nothing is true; everything is permitted.

Yes, NY State has a single-payer bill

My own State Senator, Eric Schneiderman, is a sponsor. (There may be an Assembly bill as well: I don't know.)

There is also an organization, Single Payer New York, working on the state level here.

We can't afford not to have single-payer!

Not only that...

Paterson commissioned a study for state-wide universal health care that reported single payer to be the state's best bet and he buried it.

The SP advocates there are very upset with him.

I just added it to Rosenbaum's HCAN't PR-wire over at FDL.

Ugh!

Can we get a fucking break, just once? Can't we get some motherfucker with the decency to actually do this thing?
