You remember Bush's new $700 million Baghdad embassy, right? The one Bush built for our 50-year occupation? The largest in the world? With the Krispy Kreme donut shop and the surface-to-air missiles on the roof? Of course you do.
Well, in another victory for privatization and excellence of slave labor, here's what happened the first time the cooks threw a switch in the kitchens:
The first signs of trouble, according to the cable, emerged when the kitchen staff tried to cook the inaugural meal in the new guard base on May 15. Some appliances did not work. Workers began to get electric shocks. Then a burning smell enveloped the kitchen as the wiring began to melt.
More proof that we're winning, eh?
All the food from the old guard camp -- a collection of tents -- had been carted to the new facility, in the expectation that the 1,200 guards would begin moving in the next day. But according to the cable, the electrical meltdown was just the first problem in a series of construction mistakes that soon left the base uninhabitable, including wiring problems, fuel leaks and noxious fumes in the sleeping trailers.
Reminds of that school we built to train the Iraqi Police--the one that rained shit and piss on the students in their classrooms....

New Embassy
The contractors have probably padded their budget by 50% and now with the defects coming out will probably be given a bonus and more contracts. Our leaders are like autistic blind children leading us. My apologies to any blind autistic children I may have offended. Maybe someday our castatti er congroids will actually grow some b*lls but for the most part they are just as complicit in destroying America.
