SNL devastatingly mocks Keith Olbermann

For your Sunday morning entertainment, do treat yourself to Ben Affleck's brilliant impersonation of KO last night on Saturday Night Live. Delicious.

It's especially delightful to learn that KO snuck onto the set during rehearsal to watch, creeping Affleck out.

OMG!

So funny....so right on.

Perfect

Even that frozen picture in the video clip link is exactly KO's facial expressions.

So glad to see KO's balloon get punctured.

Sweeeet baby jeebus

Thank you for posting this clip. I don't watch SNL so I would've missed this bit. I love it.
I have new respect for Affleck's acting ability.
I can only hope it is in some way devastating to the overblown puff KO has become.

Even Affleck was cracking himself up

That was excellent.

Reasonable men adapt themselves to their environment; unreasonable men try to adapt their environment to themselves. Thus all progress is the result of the efforts of unreasonable men. -- George Bernard Shaw

Olbermann liked it tho--it shows he's arrived--

and that he's a bigshot now for real.

watch and see MSNBC repeat it all week and be all happy.

He HAS to claim he liked it

To show the humiliation he no doubt truly felt would be to give it power.

nah--Matthews loves it everytime they do him--

they don't see it as indicting or humiliating at all, but as "good-natured parody", and a clear sign of their importance.

KO vs. cognitive dissonance

A marvelous thing, isn't it? The bigger the media personality's ego, the greater the sickening ability to squelch the dissonance.

Amberglow, why won't you let me fantasize about Keith's humiliation? So cruel!

bec his ego is way bigger than you think?

you can't humiliate those who truly believe they're the reincarnated Murrow.

Affleck IS Olbermann

Never thought much of him before this, but my estimation of his acting ability has risen sharply.

I also appreciate that he's a very liberal activist, frequent guest on Bill Maher's show, yet realized the beauty of taking the man down several notches.

If Affleck is acting,

what do you suppose Olbermann is doing? Hmmmm?

He was entertaining, though ineffective, and I no longer like his act.

Saw This

I found myself laughing consistently for a few minutes, but I think they dragged it out too long, and many times Affleck went into a strange British-tinged accent. While Keith often puts on a pretentious accent, it's never even remotely British. On top of that, the fauxtrage was too often overplayed. I don't like for comedy to feel put-upon, and this often tried way too hard.

I loved the concept, I even liked the execution of it at the beginning, but it was too long and too over-the-top the longer it dragged on, even for a parody and a parody of Olbermann, at that.

But, we've always been at war with Eastasia...
