So, we've never had Abu Ghraib videos before!

Because the Republicans have tried to suppress them (naturally).

And I wonder if the "a handful of videotapes" that are to be released (assuming that Bush loses his appeal) are the ones Seymour Hersh mentions—the tapes of screaming boys being raped (back).

(Not that there's anything wrong with letting off a little steam... Just a fraternity prank.... Not really evil at all, let alone un-Christian. Or un-American.)

Oddly, or not, the AP story gives some detail on the photographs, but no detail on the tapes. I certainly hope the tapes haven't "deteriorated in storage." Or something.

Also oddly, or not, the story makes no mention of the chain of custody of the tapes, or the photos. Who took them? Where were they stored? On Army servers? If so, who was the system administrator, and who was given access to them? Was the White House given access? Why or why not?

Bush and the Republicans have turned my country into a country where torture is routine. I hope they pay dearly for this—if not in this world, then in the next world of their choice.
