And photographs around the Web have changed because of what's amiss -- including the ones I posted a few days ago of Warren Jeffs with one of his "child brides", girls well below the age of consent whom Jeffs raped after a "spiritual marriage" ceremony while he was a fugitive in another rape case.
But the photographs here were not affected by the change.
Readers, does anyone else have archives of the original, unretouched pictures?
What's important here -- since the photographs have already been admitted as evidence in court -- is that the blurring of the faces of the children being victimized by this pedophile at the head of his pederastic cult does not protect the girls' privacy nearly so much as it serves to obscure how young they are: without the faces, they could be merely short women. That's a distortion of the truth, and one that, if we are to ever escape the Main$tream Corporate Media's lack of coverage of real issues, we cannot stand aside and ignore.

How come they forgot rape shield laws in the first place?
Why was it OK back then to show the victim of a rape without obscuring their identity? Did they get religion, all of a sudden, or did they think that no one would care about this girl's privacy, since she existed in a community of pedophile rapists who distributed her photo like a bubble gum card?
There's a wackness behind all of this, as if the protections we depend on outside the FLDS are allowed to fail, inside it, with no acknowledgment of the change.
That young woman's photographs were entered originally,
along with those of two other "brides" of Jeffs, in a child custody case.
One of the young girls in question was the aunt of the child at risk, and CPS had obtained copies of these "wedding anniversary pictures' -- note the inscriptions handwritten in/on the margins of the photos reproduced at TSG -- as evidence of the risk to the child in question.
It was meant to show a pattern of behavior on the part of Jeffs, and a conspiracy to enable Jeffs' behavior on the part of other FLDS compound residents.
And speaking of "rape shield laws," those are going the way of the Sharia edict too -- a woman who can't bring three men, under Sharia law, to testify that she was raped, is stoned for adultery, because her own word is always, of course, that of a lying whore.

The shield was already breached
when Jeffs and his co-conspirators distributed the photo handouts. Once made public the shield no longer holds, so blame Jeffs and the other adults - ALL of the other adults - of the FLDS for another outrage.
Keeping some of this from the public eye is why Judge Walther tried to move things along without dragging every detail out into the public glare. Blame the FLDS again for appealing and forcing her to make everyone have to look evil in the eye; a clear view of the full horror is apparently what some people require. Thankfully, she is stepping up.
Sometimes, a woman has to do what a woman has to do. :-)
