Starve the beast

John Roberts wants a raise:

Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. made judicial pay the sole topic of his second annual report, issued on Sunday, declaring that the failure by Congress to raise federal judges’ salaries in recent years has become a “constitutional crisis” that puts the future of the federal courts in jeopardy.

Well, Fuck him.

If he thinks more money for him and his Federalist cronies is the Constitutional crisis we're facing, rather than the replacement of Constitutional government with authoritarian rule, then he doesn't deserve a raise.

Starve the beast. When the wingers realize they can make more money doing what they like, which is making more money, they'll stop dropping off the teat.

Then we can replace them with the kind of judges who don't support torture, Bush v. Gore, and have no deference for Republican power grabs.

Good reading! Favorite quote: What could go wrong?
Beyond war, inflation, the end of the technology/productivity wave, and financial collapse, we think the most potent and short-term threat would be societies demanding a more ‘equitable’ share of wealth.
