Call #1 to Pelosi's Office [(202) 225-4965]:
LAMBERT: Hi, I'd like to know the status of the Kucinich and Weiner amendments to HR3962.
PELOSI STAFFER: [CLICK... Voice mail hell].
Call #2 to Pelosi's Office [(202) 225-4965]:
LAMBERT: Hi, I'd like to know the status of two amendents.
PELOSI STAFFER: Let me transfer you [CLICK... Voice mail hell].
Call #3 to Pelosi's Office [(202) 225-4965]:
LAMBERT: Hi, I'd like an answer to a question, not voice mail.
PELOSI STAFFER: I'm sorry, we're very busy [CLICK... Voice mail hell].
Our Dem "leaders" are so busy they can't even prepare a canned response to a question on Obama's signature domestic initiative?
Anyhow, I called Weiner's office, and they said that the Weiner Amendment (HR676) was still being scored, and that Pelosi's promise to give it a floor vote was still operative.
And then I called Kucinich's office; apparently the Kucinich amendment could possibly be added to the bill as part of the Manager's Amendment, and that decision will be taken Thursday -- and whether the leadership will support it remains unclear.*
NOTE * Naturally, having granted our access bloggers the presumption of good faith, I don't even have to check to see whether they're whipping for it, supporting it, or even posting on it. Because "progressives" are, like, totally on my side!

You'll have to remember to
have a voicemail option available when they come sniffing for votes. That's what I plan on sharing with the Congress critters who condemn me to voice mail Hades.
