Steyn Warns: the UN will turn you into a Pussy

Let's try to decode the sexual imagery of Mark Steyn's zinger paragraph, in today's Sun Times:

On this 25th anniversary of the Falklands War, Tony Blair is looking less like Margaret Thatcher and alarmingly like Jimmy Carter, the embodiment of the soi-disant "superpower" as a smiling eunuch.

Tony Blair is looking more like Jimmy Carter, a man without genitals, and less like Margaret Thatcher, a woman with cojones?

And note that the crude, if confused, sexual metaphor is made to sound more intellectual with the addition of an unnecessary frenchism.

But what, who, robbed Tony of his manhood?

Patrolling the Shatt al-Arab at a time of war, the Royal Navy operates under rules of engagement designed by distant fainthearts with an eye to the polite fictions of "international law":

Aha! Who can ignore the emasculating effects of the Law and international organizations like the EU and the UN? That is the general "thrust", if you will, of Steyn's piece, published on actual paper: recycled paragraphs on how the UN and EU are total suXXor.

And the implication that a true cocksman like Great Father George Dubya Bush disregards these polite fictions designed by pussies, and invades sovereign nations at will.

If you're in a ''warship,'' you can't wage war. If you're in a ''destroyer,'' don't destroy anything. If you're in a "frigate," you're frigging done for.

This confirms my belief that the only purpose of publishing "conservative columnists" in mainstream newspapers is to fuck with lefties' heads. Or, if that fails, induce severe nausea in them.

Splendid Catch, Shystee

Let me suggest that those whose heads are being fucked with aren't lefties, (it's our blood pressure that's at risk), it's the rightwings own base and those who might be their potential base. In fact, that propagandistic approach to thinking should be conceived of as a fundamental, shall we say, frontal-as-in-lobe, attack on the collective American mind.

Fortunately, there is always the increasingly popular rejoinder to be had by identifying Steyn as someone who has approved of Bush's every decision vis a vis Iraq and is certain that our present predicament there is the result of not have done more and more of the same.

Mark Steyn is his own Overton Window.

Yer right on the reason for the columnists too

Kathleen Parker's dropping today for prime example. Uses the occasion of Palm Sunday to condemn the censorship of art just because it has a religious theme which might offend subscribers of the belief in question.

Oh, you thought she was sticking up for the artist of the Chocolate Jesus' Penis? HAHAHAHahaha...(cough, snort, choke).

She was whining about the omission from a book of "Censored Cartoons" of a cartoon by the subtle-as-a-ton-of-bricks Doug Marlette that "...sparked Muslim outrage a few years ago...depicted a jihadi driving a Ryder truck with a nuclear bomb in back with the caption: What Would Muhammad Drive?"

I'm sure she's just as outraged that an artwork depicting Jesus was successfully driven out of the public's view because some oversensitive people (who should just get over it after all--wadda they think this is, a representative of their God or something) might be offended, and will be getting around to writing a column about this angst...any day now. Yup. Second Tuesday of next week most likely.

It is a plot by the salespeople of liquor, sedatives and pot. I never believed the conspiracy theory about the gubmint being involved in dope sales but am reconsidering this skepticism now.

A gift for Mark Steyn

A house warming present, or somesuch. Tony Blair can rub it for good luck whenever he passes a dead or wounded soldier. If President Bush saw it he would probably ask if there had been another Gannon sleepover. As for Jimmy Carter: why a writer such as the Steynster would choose him and pass over other more apt war-era Presidents to help illustrate his phallic points is quite beyond the fundaments of reason. Quite. Beyond.
