In economics studies you learn the terms 'cash cow' and corporate takeover, and that is what I see happening in the treatment of this country by the cabal in the White House. We are seeing America's assets stripped away to support the criminal group that has taken over.
Of course, there is no appearance, and no occurrence, of public interest there.
We always were innocent enough to expect that anyone seeking high office, for which compensation is not on a scale with corporate returns, to be activated by a wish to serve. This is not the case. There is no pretense left on the part of the administration that it has any interest in America as anything but a trough of free money for its own corporate interests. They have effected a thoroughly dishonest and disreputable corporte takeover of this country, and are using it as a cash cow from which they are sucking out the assets.
The Carlyle Corporation which is thoroughly explored in 'Fahrenheit 911' by Michael Moore has been a major source of the resource that has provided them with the lifestyle of the rich and famous. It is deeply involved in defense contracting and equipment and oil production. Much of its directorate is Middle Eastern, mainly Saudi. No one has been better served by the executive branch than these economic interests.
Now the appropriations process that attempts to use this country's resources for its own needs has been brought to a dead end. The cretin in chief will veto legislation that appropriates our own money for our own citizens. The billionaires would be upset with the use of the trough they've got their snouts in. It isn't going to be allowed.
Everyone in the Congress should be incensed by this blatant theft. The vetoes should be overcome. Anyone who votes to uphold a veto of Congressionally created monetary operations, which Congress has the constitutional right to manage, should be thrown out. Theft is the object and the purpose of the war criminals, and their hands are bloody from it.
We have criminals at the helm, and it's past time for that to end. Anyone who joins them as an accomplice may be promised a share in the spoils, but will share in the prosecution to come.

Bridges falling down
News says $200 billion to repair America's infrastructure. Meanwhile, Condi is whoring around the Middle East handing out $100 billion for weapons purchases and getting nothing immediately politically useful in return.
Arms for Arabs or repairs for our bridges, what to do, what to do?
It is a criminal conspiracy, and I do hope to live long enough to see them punished. The raid on Ted Stevens (Thief, AK) is a start.
Don't expect them to police themselves, the people will have to throw them out. First thing, get a Democrat in the White House to restore the DOJ. Then go after everyone with an (R). Anymore if you're a Republican you are either a criminal or an enabler, guilty either way. First the convictions, then the penance (penitentiary penance), then reconciliation.
Fitting, no, that the bridge collapse is in the same city as the '08 Republican convention? Maybe enough to stir up some serious picketing, if nothing else.
That bridge collapsed because it wasn't privatized!
I was going to take bets on how long that one would take to start circulating, but I imagine it already has.
No authoritarians were tortured in the writing of this post.

It's fitting, allright
If the GoPerverts treat Milwaukee and its infrastructure like they're treating New Orleans, it should be a convention that will take the National Guard to keep from being pitched out. Oh, that's right. No National Guard.
It's hard to watch, but keep a close eye on the crooks try to weasel out of appropriating anything to keep this country afloat. Their interests are elsewhere.

Ah, Ruth
All those upper mid-West cities do run together in the mind, don't they? The VRWC
will be holding their convention in Minneapolis which is much like Wilwaukee except it's a lot colder in the wintertime and the beer isn't as good.
Honestly, bridges falling down around our ears and people just seem to shrug and trudge along. A lot of Scandanavian Lutherans in Minnenoplace, the attitude with any sort of disaster is to suck it up, hold it in, tsk, tsk, followed inevitably by "It could be worse." said with a shrug and a half-smile of resignation. The expectation is that god will punish us, because we deserve it; complaining only risks drawing more attention and potentially more punishment.
Could some smart liberal lawyer look into the possibility of filing state and federal caomplaints against all the delegates to the Republican/WRWC convention for racketeering, like the mob enterprise they are? Seems reasonable to me.
Indiana, Louisiana, one of those eastern states
I admit I lose the details when I'm more interested in the point to make. No, no, I wanted to get your attention!
The dangers of getting involved in actual reforms scare most folks, some of us more hotblooded genetically than others. A friend used to tell me her variation on prayer was "thank you for not making me stand on a corner shouting 'Repent'". Which seemed a good thing.
Activism is scary. It takes getting flooded out of your entire gulf coast for some. Hopefully, that won't be necessary. But right now I fear much of the population is busily watching disaster pron on the teebee until time for American Idol to come on.
