As someone who perversely prefers reality to religion, tonight's so-called "Compassion Forum" at Messiah College (no, I am not making that up) was rather gut-wrenching.

I'll leave it to professional scatologists and eschatologists to sift out the candidates' pandering from their sincere beliefs in supernatural phantoms.

I must say, though, that it would take the faith of a child or a ____ member not to guffaw at Obama's rationalization for the "bitterness" kerfuffle, an answer that purports to clarify this statement of his about small-town, blue-collar voters in PA and the Midwest:
