Thou shalt not be caught lying

Rumsfeld’s idea of a code of ethics, in his testimony about the Pat Tillman cover-up:

“You will note that principle number one — the very first — was: ’Do nothing that could raise questions about the credibility of DOD.’”

Not “act with integrity” or “honesty is the best policy.” Not even “avoid the appearance of impropriety.” Just avoid questions.

Bush has nothing but praise for ex-employee Donald Rumsfeld:

“Every decision Don Rumsfeld made over the past six years, he always put the troops first, and the troops knew it,” Bush said.
