SNL devastatingly mocks Keith Olbermann
For your Sunday morning entertainment, do treat yourself to Ben Affleck's brilliant impersonation of KO last night on Saturday Night Live. Delicious.
New Yorker, once the proud home of fact-checking, shits the bed covering Obama's RFK smear of Hillary
The mildew continues to spread.
I've been been reading the New Yorker almost since I could read. I'm sure my parents weren't the only parents who framed New Yorker covers for art, when they were coming up and poor. I still think of a table of contents, let alone a letters section, as innovations that pander to weak-minded readers, and I loved the five-part series on geology.* And the one on soybeans, too! The Mighty Corrente Building has Departments in homage to New Yorker; I admire--honor--revere the New Yorker, and not least because they publish Seymour Hersh.
TV host musical chairs
According to one report Keith Olberman and Gwen Ifill are the top contenders for the new Meet the Press host. Now Ifill is nothing but a public embarrassment. However, if she got the MTP gig, that would open up Washington Week for Robert Parry.
Is Olbermann Turning Into O'Reilly?
Via The Sideshow,
limerick:
In the past I cheered Olbermann’s rants—
Loved his anti-war, anti-Bush stance.
But misogynous bluster
Is all he can muster
In Olbermann’s mirror-romance.
Hillary Clinton's disturbing pattern
Hillary Clinton's reference to Robert F. Kennedy is just the tip of the iceberg of her worrisome ill intent.
Recently, she mentioned Abraham Lincoln. And not just in any context, but as as a pretext to get herself alone on a stage with her political rival, Barack Obama.
Thank God, he didn't take the bait! At this point, is there any doubt that she planned to go all "Sic semper tyrannis" on him?
Three years ago, she collapsed in Buffalo, NY, no doubt overwhelmed with excitement about her plan to re-enact McKinley's assassination at the Pan-American Expo. Talk about premeditated!
The Torch Is Passed, MSNBC Must Be So Proud
Via Talk Left, Bob Somerby on Keith Olbermann and Countdown:
But then, Countdown has almost surely become the most propagandized show in cable “news” history. Yes, you can still find pure crap in the mainstream press. But pure crap abounds now on Countdown.
When we started this site, the mainstream press corps took the cake (see item above). Now, our “liberal” cable show does—and that has our analysts bollixed.
How silly does it get on Countdown? Just watch any part of the show, any night! The propaganda flow starts right away, and it rarely stops.
But wait, there's more! The emphasis is mine.
Keith Olbermann: Elton John One of the Worst People In the World for Acknowledging Misogyny
Did everyone get together and decide it was piss off BDBlue day today? Because that's what it seems like.
The latest? Keith Olbermann declared Elton John one of his worst people in the world for saying that Hillary Clinton is trailing Obama
in part at least, because of prejudice against women. I never cease to be amazed at the misogynistic attitudes of some people in this country.
