There's a charge that the insurance company pays and one that you pay and then there's the mystery money thats only charged to people without insurance or the wrong insurance. You can best believe that, unless you have the Cadillac of insurance, the amopunt you pay will be more than your insurance company and the mystery money will be outragious. It's a game they play to balance the books.

Advocates for a single payer healthcare system gathered in Louisville Thursday for what’s become an annual rally.

Western Massachusetts PDA Mobilizes for HR 676

The Western Massachusetts Chapter of PDA with allies in the Western Mass. Single Payer Network convened for a lunchtime rally at the Federal Building in Springfield on Wednesday, May 27. One hundred strong, we once again sought a meeting to discuss single-payer healthcare with Rep. Richard Neal, one of only 3 Mass. Representatives who has not yet sponsored HR676.

KY Election Officials indicted for 'Changing Votes at E-Voting Machines'

Circuit court judge, county clerk, and election officials among eight indicted for gaming elections in 2002, 2004, 2006

FURTHER UPDATE: Having now reviewed the indictment, as linked above, here are some additional details on the alleged conspiracy which included election fraud though the buying and selling of votes to be cast in a certain way, with the aid of one of the defendants who served as a poll worker during the Early Voting period. Also, at the polling place on Election Day with aid of poll workers, drafted as both Democratic and Republican judges, to elect a slate of candidates --- some of them bribed --- the conspirators would manipulate the votes of "qualified voters" at the voting machines themselves.

Kentuckians for Single Payer Healthcare

Forum attendees outspoken on health care reform

Some audience members cited administrative hurdles and limited reimbursements for some medical services as barriers to adequate care.

Harriette Seiler, secretary for Kentuckians for Single Payer Health Care, is a native of Canada, where much of her family still lives.

“The Canadian single-payer system works,” she said.

Seiler noted that patients in need of non-emergency care might have to wait and that care is prioritized based on the severity of the case.

“Our care is rationed by the ability to pay, and that’s a national disgrace,” she said.

Yarmuth, talking sense about health care

Northup and Yarmuth square off on healthcare and economy in third debate

"Right now, 70 percent of Humana's business is administering programs from the government," retorted Yarmuth. "The idea that a single-payer program basically preempts the private sector is not true."

Yarmuth also defended universal and single-payer systems.

Humana management, stock dumping health insurance parasites

Last year John Bertko dumped a net of 8,300 shares of Humana stock. Since November 2006 Bruce Goodman has dumped a net of 31,251 shares of Humana stock.

Merely stating the net sales of shares does not give the scale of greed we are dealing with. If you go through the trades of Humana’s Board of Directors you see parasites exercising options for little or nothing and selling at huge gains. Someone needs to ask Yarmuth and the rest of the Kentucky delegation, if Humana does not believe in it’s business model, why should the rest of us?

KY-3: What is wrong with Yarmuth on health care?

Round 1: No agreement today in KY-3 debate

Yarmuth said the legislation in question - specifically, H.R. 676 - was never going to pass and was intended only as a statement of his desire for universal health care.

Do you live in Yarmuth's district? Do you know anyone who does? Tell Yarmuth that you expect him to keep his promise to support HR 676.

It ain't over: Time to Fight On

There's a good reason for the recent Obamabot psyops, pundit declarations, general wailing and at times cajoling Clinton supporters have been subjected to since her recent Indiana victory was spun into a loss: Clinton still has a very good chance of securing the nomination.

What's more, the next few days are absolutely critical for her and her supporters. The end is only here if we allow the latest round to depress morale and turnout for the upcoming WV and KY primaries.

Jay Cost at RCP lays out why Clinton's down but not out. First some numbers and demographics:

Two things are holding me back: West Virginia and Kentucky.

What's the matter with Josh Marshall?

In the ongoing saga of WKJM, today's edition tries to answer the question, why did Hillary win Ohio and does it have anything to do with why she'll win Indiana and Kentucky? Not one to bury the lede, let me say that WKJM's answer is that there are a whole bunch of racists in those states.
