I’m So [Sic] Of Bush

While discussing the No Child Left Behind program in New York on September 26, 2007, President Bush uttered yet another statement that defied proper grammar:

As yesterday's positive Report Card shows, childrens [sic] do learn when standards are high and results are measured.

The transcript of his remarks as of September 26 at 1 p.m. said:

As yesterday's positive Report Card shows, children do learn when standards are high and results are measured.

It has since been corrected. Why? From Hottie McHalf-truth’s press briefing on September 27:

MS. PERINO: The integrity of the transcripts are very important to me and I've made that clear.

If “integrity” is the standard, what other of the President’s mutterings should the [sic] be placed after?
