Hillary Clinton / Tom Cruise video -- a poorly made case

A viral video of the moment mashes up clips of Tom Cruise's bizarre Scientology promo with Hillary's despicable show of human emotion on the campaign trail.

Am I missing something in this? Is there anything of the hypnotic, robotic mania in the Cruise video to be found in Clinton's intercut statements and vulnerable demeanor?

Anyway, far be it from me to suggest that any 2008 campaign might have a cult-like dimension, or that crazed enthusiasts are drinking "magic water." Such a candidacy just couldn't happen here.

Also, one might note that one can criticize the implication that there's a cult-like dimension in a campaign without shrieking that a sin against hope, winning, voters of a certain age, and ponies has been unleashed upon a world that shall never recover. The video maker tried to make a satirical point, and in my opinion, proved the opposite of his thesis. Cruise looks like a nutcase, Hillary looks sincere. Others may see it differently. C'est la vie.

Well, sorry, GTG. They're calling me back to my spider hole....

Cruise controlled

Must-watch video of Tom Cruise making us all feel really good about Scientology.

Pretty much lives up to its billing... "Let me put it this way: if Tom Cruise jumping on Oprah's couch was an 8 on the scale of scary, this is a 10."

It's Krazy with a KSW.
