On December 31, 2014 the US in the UN Security Council voted against a resolution to end Israel’s occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem by 2017 and for a “comprehensive peace deal” to be reached by the end of 2015. Here are some excerpts dealing with the plight of the Palestinians vs. the willful denial of their horror by the US politicians and too many propaganda-saturated US and global citizens.

William Hanna in “Hypocrisy, Double Standards, and the Politicisation of Genocide” explains that in 1998 120 states of the international community adopted the Rome Statute which established a legal basis for establishing an International Criminal Court (ICC).
The U.S. and Israel signed the ICC accord in 2000. They have since withdrawn and opposed the ICC because the political leaders of both do not wish to be judged according to a “global standard of justice.” Read more about The Politicization of Genocide
Israeli “self defense” is NOT what is going on, even though there is relentless 24/7 US mainstream media propaganda to camouflage the ruthless unleashing of the Israeli/US-paid-for mass killing war machine.
In "Eyeless in Gaza" Jonathan Cook calls out Netanyahu’s protests of waging a “necessary” war of self-defense against rockets and tunnels. He writes: Read more about Collective Punishment & Butchering Babies is Self-Defense?
Was there ethnic hatred at the bottom of the deaths of three innocent Israeli teens recently? A good chance of that.
Is that an excuse for ethnic hatred or politically and militarily empowered acts of mass murder or incarceration, the unleashing of even more of a vendetta program to perpetrate “ethnic cleansing” against an entire Palestinian population? Also a most convenient excuse at the same time to destroy the recent efforts for empowerment and social justice for Palestinians under a hyper-oppressive occupying Israeli governance? Obama’s speech to the UN on Tuesday was slick and creepy -- dangerously threatening at times, especially its rejection of any serious commitment to the basic UN charter, and hypocritically jingoistic at other times, particularly in rationalizing “military humanitarian intervention” and conflating US imperialism with benignly “stabilizing the globe.” Read more about Wrong-Side-of-History Obama’s UN Speech: 10 Issues
Below are 15 further thoughts and discoveries I'd like to share about this gravely troubling threat of Obama’s launching a military strike against Syria:
1. First off, this from Winslow Myers who compellingly writes,
Our missiles will unleash stupid violence. Unnecessary violence. Hypocritical Violence.
Stupid violence because it extends yet further the hatred that so many in the Middle East must feel for our crudely righteous meddling.
It is highly probable that the Obama administration and NATO will be launching a pre-emptive war (under another name) against Syria within the next two weeks OR even the next two days. They will be using the same pre-emptive war WMD propaganda playbook, exactly as was done with GWB’s Iraq War.
Deja vu, my fellow Americans?
Are we still so much the “bewildered herd” we’re about to watch big-time international war criminality perpetrated one more time? This time with the weapons of mass destruction playbook in the hands of the ever-popular Barack Obama. Read more about 15 Arguments Against WMD Playbook in Obama’s Hands!
In “Chomsky: The Boston Bombings Gave Americans a Taste of the Terrorism the U.S. Inflicts Abroad Every Day,” Mr. Chomsky quotes a Columbia University health scientist, Leslie Roberts, who estimated that the fake vaccination program used by the CIA in Pakistan to hunt down bin Laden may cause as many as 100,000 global cases of polio. Roberts told Scientific American: Read more about Price of CIA’s bin Laden ‘Glory Killing’: 100,000 Polio Cases
Bill Van Auken reminds us that the US-French intervention in Mali has been touted as “humanitarian”, “aimed at rescuing Malian people from Islamists.” He declares, “the reality is that the war has unleashed immense human suffering.”
The humanitarian crisis in Syria is an indictment of the United States, Britain and the other major powers that have deliberately stoked the sectarian civil war, and given support to a rag-tag opposition, dominated by reactionary Islamist tendencies, in a bid to oust the Assad regime and install a pliant puppet government. The US and its allies cynically exploit the social disaster they have helped create, in order to intensify the push to remove Assad. Oliver Campbell
NATO ministers met in Brussels today, December 5th, to approve Turkey’s request for Patriot missiles and for foreign and US troops to be deployed to their border with Syria.
The US/NATO War-machine plows onward in the attempted illegitimate overthrow of Syria, much as it did with its successful illegitimate overthrow of Libya.
Turkey has offered geographical strategic assistance to the US- and NATO-backed so-called “rebels” trying to overthrow Assad’s Syrian regime. Turkey now offers itself as a flimsy fig-leaf for craven powerful western intervention into Syria. Read more about Obama, US, NATO Heart Al Qaeda in Syria (WTF?)
Obama responding to the latest Israeli/Palestinian crisis at a press conference in Thailand on 11/18/12 at the start of a three-nation tour in Asia:
"Let's understand what the precipitating event here that's causing the current crisis and that was an ever-escalating number of missiles that were landing not just in Israeli territory but in areas that are populated, and there's no country on Earth that would tolerate missiles raining down on its citizens from outside its borders.”
Obama actually said "There's no country on Earth that would tolerate missiles raining down on its citizens from outside its borders.”
What a sense of humor that guy has! ROFLMAO!!!! Read more about Obama’s Remark Re ‘Raining Missiles’ a Joke, Right?
Mohammed Omer, Palestinian journalist based in Gaza who in 2008 won the Martha Gellhorn Prize for Journalism, writes:
“Air strikes are bombing everything that moves. Everything that moves in the streets is being bombed and attacked. ... One thing that we ought to talk about here is the humanitarian situation in the Gaza strip. This is a situation of targeting a population of civilians, exactly like Israel is shooting in a fishbowl. And there is no shelter, and there is nowhere to run for the general population. Gaza is living in a very dire situation.”
