Good reading! Favorite quote: What could go wrong?
Beyond war, inflation, the end of the technology/productivity wave, and financial collapse, we think the most potent and short-term threat would be societies demanding a more ‘equitable’ share of wealth.

$19/hr
that's what the minimum wage would be now had it kept up with productivity gains.

From Oregon State: a discussion and graphs showing History of the Minimum Wage.
The equivalent of what I was making when I started working would be $9/hour today. In 1967 the Federal minimum wage peaked at the equivalent of $9.47/hour.
When I was making $1.25/hour minimum wage you could buy a new family car for under $2K, and a new 2-bedroom house for $10K. Two cheeseburgers, fries, and a Coke at McDonalds was $.50.
