Thanks TPM, we appreciate your courageous work.

Like alot of folks, I don't often visit WKJM's blog. But today, I was interested to see how the koolaid was tasting and took a stroll.

That's how I found Greg Sargent's helpful compilation entitled "Was The Media Unfair To Hillary? Here's Our Rundown", arriving, "just in time to not make a difference" as the man says. But with the difference not made, this is now merely the koolest invitation to pull up a comfy chair and have some popcorn that we've had in some time.

So how exactly, one wonders, are they going to list the atrocities without a mea culpa? Will they moonwalk? Will they face their own crimes head-on? Well, the answer apparently is "nope". They will show examples while completely ignoring that WKJM Himself did exactly what they accuse others of doing. The atrocities have already been documented so many places like here, Daily Howler, Confluence, Shakes, etc., etc., etc. that I won't bother to cite specifics, others may though for fun. Most of the examples Sargent sites are things they themselves noted back in 2007 but that was before WKJM drank the koolaid. Tellingly, if you look at Sargent's own blog spot there, "Horses Mouth" you will note that he flat out puts it on hiatus in early March after three posts in a row where he lays out that the media is unfairly critical of Hillary compared to Obama. Apparently that is something which WKJM up with could not put.

But then Sargent offers this stunning statement:

"Multiple pundits asserted as outright fact that the Clintons had hatched a grand plot [links to one of his Horses Mouth posts] to paint Obama as the black candidate in order to boost white turnout in the big industrial states.

Let me be as clear as possible here: Yes, the Clintons did racialize the campaign in some ways. And it's conceivable that the grand plot described above did exist."
Emphasis mine.

Evidence provided? Nada. Quotes provided? Nyet. Unfair to speculate? No way! It would be unfair NOT to speculate! So in other words, the most unfair charge against Hillary ("Billary" as he calls her unself-conciously in the Horses Mouth) is now "as clear as possible" without attribution, or proof. Stunning in its lack of self-awareness, yet pleasingly "truthy".

I don't have the energy anymore, could someone else please be outraged for me? I'm outraged out, as well as "herculow".

If They Didn't Speculate, How Could They Join the Village?

TPM is hardly alone. Via the Daily Howler, Matt Yglesias on that awful Bill Clinton hit piece in Vanity Fair:

YGLESIAS (6/2/08): It's hard for me to tell how much of the sleazy behavior that Purdum hints at here is actually true. Based on the record, it wouldn't at all be unlike Clinton for some of it to be true.

Some of it could be true, the lad judged. Though it was hard for him to “tell how much” of what Purdum “hints at” is “actually true.” (Translation: None of it may be true. More on Purdum’s work next week.)

How much more do you need from Yglesias? A question sometimes comes to mind when we sift the work of lads like this: How do they get this way so early in life? Likely answer: They’ve worked very hard at the task. But there again, you see the mental styles of your “press elite” on display.

But, hey, Yglesias is at least speculating based on "the record" whatever the fuck that is. I presume it's Lewinsky but it could be the Whitewater bullshit or any other number of lies the media has decided is the "record" about Bill Clinton.

Yeah, but is this enough to get Greg his blog back?

Huh? Huh???

Today on WNYC, which somehow had trouble recognizing sexism or misogyny during the primary, they promoted a video on their site which highlighted the lowest of the sexist attacks on Hillary.

Both TPM and WNYC's belated information made me want to barf.

But, look around, calling out the sexism NOW is just The Coolest Thing To Do on the MCM!

WKJM and Olbermann walk theirs back, I'll care. Not 'til. N/T
