The flip side of accountability is repudiation

Yes, we've got to hold the Republicans accountable for what they've done, not just under the criminal Bush regime but for the last thirty years, since they started building the VRWC so they could hold wages flat and grab as much as they could.

But, for our own self-respect, and to win back the respect of the world, we've also got to repudiate the Republicans, and what they've done to the country. Thoroughly, systematically, visibly, ruthlessly.

That's why convicting Rummy for war crimes is a much better outcome for the country than being Civil, or Dignified, or Moderate, or Bipartisan, or whatever role of complete ineffectiveness the morally and intellectually bankrupt Beltway 500 would urge upon us.

It's the same deal with all the Republican anti-science stuff. Wherever scientific decisions need to be made, Bush has installed either industry shills or Christianist zealots. Republican anti-science has to be repudiated, so the industry shills and the Christianists have to be purged. Why should the country live with this nonsense?

And so on, for many other examples.

In a thoroughly Bipartisan way, of course. Snicker.
