The intellectual wing of the Democratic Party? WTF?

lambert's picture

Classic "creative class" [cough] bullshit from BooMan:

Hillary Clinton has managed to seriously get under the skin of the intellectual wing of the Democratic Party.

What a shame for the people that BooMan imagines to be "intellectuals." I feel for them, I really do. But not too seriously; no doubt the "intellectuals" on the Times Op-Ed board have insurance that covers their dermatological outbreak incidents.

Privileged, self-congratulatory, and at least as likely to be wrong as right:
AP:

Clinton, though, showed signs of eating into two groups Obama normally controls as the two split college graduates and whites under age 30.

Of course, I imagine those with college degrees who voted for Clinton aren't really intellectuals....

NOTE Hey BooMan! "Queens" is in New York, not Philly! You're not swallowing that Sixth Borough bullshit, are you? From Susie's excellent evisceration of one "creative class" "intellectual"'s ability to do basic demographic analysis of the towns in his own back yard.

I think the proper headline for the AP item is

"Hillary Clinton eats America's young."

BTW, talk radio was ringing off the hook today with WWTSBQ talk. XM-Potus, Air America (yes, I'm sneaking back from my boycott so I can hate on them for their remaining campaign coverage, and there's a lot to hate), NPR, etc.

Shorter Every Asshole in the Media: "All the low blows in the campaign were thrown by Hillary (no examples ever offered, of course), and the stupid bitch only won by 9-and-change percent -- what a loser!"

Remember that the Obama rules apply to rounding!

9 does not round up to 10.

9.5 does not round up to 10.

9.9 does not round up to 10.

9.99 does not round up to 10.

9.999 does not round up to 10....

You know the drill....

Is Hillary using the "Rope-a-dope" strategy?

The OFB, Oborg and Oh! bama campaign have been trying frantically to knock Hillary out.

Maybe it's just me, but they really seem to be on the verge of imploding.

Meanwhile, she just keeps getting stronger.

AP calls Hillary a monster who eats people--

sadly, no surprise.

And i haven't seen one news article leading with Obama's erosion of support in most groups from primary to primary.

And voters don't want an intellectual--they want a fighter who will do practical things that help us.

It's really really really really simple--maybe too simple for "intellectuals".

That headline is hardly fair to Hillary

Hillary only eats babies. Let's be reasonable, here, people.

During one of Adlai Stevenson's

presidential campaigns a supporter told him that he was sure to "get the vote of every thinking man" in the U.S., to which Stevenson is said to have replied, "Thank you, but I need a majority to win."

Perhaps they should take a nappy nap.

Well goldberry, as my daughter says:

"It's better to be pretty than smart."

She should know, she's both.

So you have that going for you.

Boonman Thinks Gail Collins is an Intellectual?

Or a Democrat?

And she used to be the head of the editorial board back in the nineties. They don't come any dumber, more clueless, and more contemptuous of democratic governance.

Beyond war, inflation, the end of the technology/productivity wave, and financial collapse, we think the most potent and short-term threat would be societies demanding a more ‘equitable’ share of wealth.
