The problem

Avarosis:

John McCain again today basically accused Obama of treason. Within that attack is the usual Republican* blood lie about Democrats - that they hate America, hate the troops, etc. - with a bit of subtle racism thrown in (playing on Obama's African heritage, and on the fact that some of his ancestor's were Muslim, all adding up to someone "less than American").

The preamble to Obama's platform:

"A great nation now demands that its leaders abandon the politics of partisan division and find creative solutions to promote the common good. A

Who's right? Avarosis? Obama? One, both, neither? Who's lying? One? Both? Neither?

Anybody getting the teeniest, weeniest bit of cognitive dissonance here?

And then, of course, there's FISA, so on balance, I'd have to say that Avarosis is the one lying, but really, how can anybody be expected to stay on message when there are so many, and they contradict each other?

NOTE * Just to clarify, I'm sure Avarosis must mean, by "Republicans," those Republicans remaining who haven't jumped ship to the Democratic Party already.

NOTE Cannonfire implores the Obamacans to elevate their game: They just can't bring the hate against McCain the way they could against Hillary. Even Avarosis. I mean, where are the ALL CAPS?

UPDATE Now I'm sure Avarosis is lying or, to put matters in a more nuanced way, part of a kabuki show. Money talks:

ALBANY — Tom Golisano, the Rochester billionaire and registered Republican, donated $1 million on Friday to the host committee of the Democratic Party’s convention in Denver, making him one of the largest donors to the planning efforts surrounding the expected coronation of Barack Obama as the party’s nominee next week.

So, which is it to be? Republicans as blood libellers, or Republicans as donors signing the checks? It's an easy choice, right?

Q Poll says McCain gaining on Obama

Soto's absolutely right--

and Obama waited way too long, and is still only on defense--he's only reacting, and lobbing back whining idiocy like "McCain cheated!", etc.

Turns out Solzhenitsyn never told the "cross in the dirt" story

So Bareback Andy and the Kossacks must owe Johnny Mac an apology, right?

You know, Lambert

you asked "who's lying?" when you know that it can't be Obama. Obama never lies, it's all just "nuance."

to use "blood lie", which is based on "blood libel"--

--a classically and long-running antisemitic thing--is just so very wrong and offensive. Just appalling, and just as bad as when neocons compare all tinpot dictators to Hitler.

The Avarosis Rule

If there are two conflicting versions of the truth, that which is promulgated by John Avarosis is wrong.
