The Senate May Condemn MoveOn

No link, but I’m curious about what you all think. Apparently there are bills in the Senate, pushed by Republicans and not really oppossed so strongly by Democrats, to condemn MoveOn for the “Betrayus” ad. Because it “hurt the troops” or some nonsense. The excuses the Democrats are coming up with for why they can’t stop it are pretty lame, and they may even offer their own version as a “compromise.”

If it passes, it’s another step towards creating the environment in which just being progressive is enough to get you on government-backed blacklists. Jobs, loans, various civil rights…these things can go away for some of us, when there are legal frameworks in place that separate us from “decent Americans.” Think about it like the Drug War- who would’ve believed, once upon a time, that a drug conviction would spell the end of participation in middle-class society. But that’s a hard (and acceptable to most) fact these days, just as it’s totally awesome to do things like lock up 12 year old “dealers” for life or take away granny’s house because the grandkid smoked a joint on the sidewalk out front. The Drug War (and the WOT) is really a race war, and that war is being expanded to include white progressives.

Legal and social absurdities don’t just pop up out of nowhere, they are inserted into public discourse and policy, one “proclimation” or “position” at a time. We’ve already seen how progressives are demonized in the discourse, now it’s time to begin seeing how we’ll be punished with specific policies.

Would Harry and Nancy be able to find the votes to oppose a bill making MoveOn membership a disqualification for government jobs? Because you know the Republicans have plenty of nutjobs who would happily introduce such a bill, were they to believe the momentum for such things was building.

Looks like Boehner's one of the bill's authors

from here: The Hill. Ten days ago, they set this thing in motion.

CD, I think it’s a symptom of a bigger war.

I think it’s a war of, for, and by the elites, against everybody else.

Taking the country back

..from this criminal gang isn’t going to be easy. But this one has promise.

Legislation to condemn an ad would be great to add some amendments to like, say, O’Reilly calling for San Francisco monument (Coit Tower) bombings and the like.

MoveOn membership has been an accusation like communist sympathizer for awhile now, and the word ’liberal’ just hisses off those fangs. It will be nice to watch them eat their own hate-speech.

May I, CD?

The Senate resolution is S. Res. 315 introduced by Senator John Cornyn.

Of interest:

Resolved, That it is the sense of the Senate—

(1) to reaffirm its support for all the men and
women of the United States Armed Forces, including General David H. Petraeus, Commanding General, Multi-National Force—Iraq;

(2) to strongly condemn any effort to attack the honor and integrity of General Petraeus and all the members of the United States Armed Forces; and

(3) to specifically repudiate the unwarranted personal attack on General Petraeus by the liberal activist group Moveon.org.

The Bill of Rights is a born rebel. It reeks with sedition. In every clause it shakes its fist in the face of constituted authority… . it is the one guaranty of human freedom to the American people. - Frank Irving Cobb

More up is down-ism

Political generals don’t have any honor, by definition.

Irony lives!

Recall that moveon.org was founded to encourage people to “move on” from the Beltway’s below-the-belt fixation with the Clenis.

And now, the most important thing in the world — something we musn’t “move on” from — is condemning an ad that talks honestly about America’s greatest foreign-policy blunder ever.

Goodness, it's like an old-style Latin American dictatorship!

Can’t ever criticize Pinochet Betray Us, because the military is the custodian of the nation’s honor et cetera.

How odd. Or not.

Senate moving on MoveOn

Just sent another donation to MoveOn. I will actively oppose any Democrat who supports MoveOn’s censure.

When the next attack comes, they're gonna issue licenses

to hunt ’libruls’ and DFHs. The terrified sheep out there in TV-land will heep blame on the folks who ’prevented’ the Chimp from ’protecting’ them, by opposing the ICORP in Iraq, condemning torture, and curtailing domestic spying.
it’ll happen…
Gay-ron-fuukin-TEED, cheayah!!!

A Quick Study, But A Slow Learner

What Do I Think?

I think I just sent moveon.org another $50 just to spite the worthless rethugs + the 20 or so worthless dems who supported them. Way to stand up & support your constituents, assholes.

looks like we're gonna have to put up a list

25 traitor dems who hate us and populism. nice party we’ve got there.

Bush trying to get the Bush dogs to act like ol' Strom?

Not the illegimate daughter, but to jump parties.

Dunno. I’m beyond incandesence anyhow.

Let them have their Sister Souljah moment, if we can fund primary challenges.
