I took this pic at the National zoo a few years ago. The baby panda climbed way up this tree, 20 feet or so, with all the confidence in the world, and then... took a look at how far away the ground was and just couldn't quite get the courage up to climb back down. Cried for his mom, who did look up from eating bamboo for a bit, and then she took a nap. When I came upon the pic recently, it just seemed like such a liberal allegory.
We checked back in a couple of hours and he was just figuring out the descent. Baby Pandas, cutest evah.

Not getting the allegory
Spell it out for the slow, please!
First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win. -- Mahatma Gandhi
A Stab in the Dark?
Up a tree and can't figure out how to get back down? Doesn't that describe liberals who are wedded to the savior model of the Droner and who can't figure out another way to achieve their ends? They need to get back down on the ground to start over again but can't figure out how to do it - thus the wailing and gnashing of teeth about Paul?

Alcuin has it...
...and very well stated, amen to that brother (sister?).
Or as I put it, "Can you just get out of the fucking tree already?"
Sorry to be obscure about it.
Brother
Oh, that was so funny! In solidarity, your "brother", Alcuin. There are so many good people on Corrente - I'm glad I found this place!
