"The Stepfordization of Josh Marshall"

Oh, snap!

Go on, Josh! Destroy your brand!

Or maybe you could take a minute to think*, step back from the brink, and realize that: (1) you'd planned to be around a lot longer than any one candidate, and (2) there might just be a market for news that's significantly more cleansed of disinformation and spin than our famously free press. I mean, that's what I thought you were about. Sadly.

NOTE * Some of the writers at Kos seem to be trying to save the Kos brand all by themselves. Good luck to them. They'll need it.

I ain't welcome no more

I readily admit that I do posses a certain "in your face" style at times in order to drive my point home and I could rub someone the wrong way, especially if they have thin skin. But I know that I almost always bring valid points that cannot be ignored also.
On Wednesday, I believe, I tried to serve Josh Marshall a wake up call, an intervention if you will, and left a comment there on one of his insane "Hillary did it" rants, telling him to snap out of it. I also had the snarkiness to label his blog "OTPM", "Obama's Talking Points Mouthpiece".
Now I can't log into my account there.
He's taken his ball and gone home.
It breaks my heart to see Marshall, Avarosis and Moulitsas this way. I've corresponded with these people and I genuinely like them. I really don't understand what has happened to them. It's really weird.

delusional

Do you think some of these guys might have imagined themselves a part of an Obama administration? (a "West Wing" fantasy -- as in the television show?)

President O. will surely be hiring dozens of smart, young, 30-somethings to work for his team. And of course many of those will be bloggers-- loyal, vocal, hard-working, A-list bloggers! (remember-- it's a fantasy.)

These guys wouldn't stand a chance with Hillary (and who wants to work for a girl anyway?! Yuk!).

So they bet on the guy most likely to reward them for their enthusiasm.

I really hope it works out for them:

Press Secretary Josh Marshall; Deputy Chief of Staff Markos Moulitsas; Special Assistant John Avarosis

And they'll need a large team of speechwriters. Obama eats a lot of fresh speech.

And there will be plenty of full time staff whose jobs will be to interpret and explain W.O.R.M after every press conference and interview.

What will they do if Hillary becomes the president? They've become so accustomed to opposing all things Clinton-- it'll be hard to stop.

Maybe they'll pretend it was all just a dream... a very sad dream.

Maybe they'll pretend it never happened.

Maybe they'll all move to Ghana.

Continuing the "Hillary did it" meme

Also, I'd like to add that I do alot of surfing to many blogs daily. I'm addicted to politics (poor me). The reaction to this Rev Wright fiasco from all of the Obama (I'll be charitable) supporters is overwhelmingly that "Hillary is evil and this is all her fault".
I'd really like to inform these unfortunate people that even if Hillary did drop out of the race when David Plouffe told her to, this still all would have happened right now. ABC News and Fox "News" bought the Rev Wright hate speech tapes many months ago.
There is no way Hillary had anything to do with this.

Even if she did, it's a revelation of the truth

Honestly, even if she snuck into the pews to video tape Reverend Wright as he was talking about Bill Clinton riding blacks "dirty," it's still Wright's words and Obama's close, 20 year relationship with him that are at issue. This is what the OFB does: distract any scrutiny away from Obama. Whatever you do, don't look behind the curtain! Don't! Hillary is evil! Get her!

By the way, Wright and the church sells those tapes (Obviously, they're not ashamed of those sermons).

The Obama Rules

Obama is the way and the truth.

Therefore, Hillary's so-called truth, being objectively anti-Obama, cannot be the truth as it has been revealed to us.

What's wrong with you?

It's a puzzle

For the life of me I don't understand the Progressive's Obama love and Hillary demonization. I mean, I could understand preferring one candidate over another, but then the debate would be discussion of what each brings to the table. But that's not what goes on. And it seems as though the more we learn about Obama the more Hillary is pilloried.

The legion of Hillary hating bloggers have come to sound just like the right wing talk shows. I don't go on their sites anymore. As has Air America Radio, which I now call Air Obama Radio, and no longer listen to.

it's the media, i think--they've demonized her for decades,

and many have bought into their endlessly repeated slurs---definitely since the 92 campaign.

Hillary actually has been more slurred than Bill--much much more. The media's always had a certain respect for him, as a player or whatever, or because of his success no matter what they threw at him, or because he got away with the affairs, etc...

Amen to that, AM5 n/t

.

"Progressives"

@AM5: So many "progressives" tell me how appalling I am to call myself one and yet vote for Clinton. When I mention that, in fact, Clinton is actually more progressive than Obama--especially on domestic policy--they just scream at me how awful I am to support a "fucking warmongerer!" (To be fair, there are others that simply perpetuate right-wing lies about domestic policy, such as health care, Social Security, etc.).

That's all they have to counter it: she voted for the AUMF in 2002, a vote that was not for preemptive war (as noted in her speech) but a position supported by Hans Blix. I vehemently disagreed with that vote, but to call Clinton a warmongerer while these same people enthusiastically supported Kerry in '04 and refuse to hold Obama equally accountable for his voting record and past rhetoric on Iraq is disgusting.

Hillary Hate is not political; it's just irrational hate (misogynistic bigotry with a side helping of CDS).

Didn't know that was Han's Blix's position

Nice point....

Hans Blix is a good OFB fire extinguisher

Yes; from eriposte:

In summary, Hans Blix, certainly no fan of the U.S. invasion of Iraq, repeatedly explains that a credible threat of force against Iraq was critical to get inspectors back into Iraq under conditions that were set by the UN (not by Iraq). He says "I did not see that increasing military pressure and readiness for armed action necessarily excluded a desire for a peaceful solution" - which is no different from what Sen. Kerry and Sen. Clinton have stated repeatedly.

Pull out the Hans Blix card and it stuns the OFB for a moment (leaving you enough time to run for the exits if necessary). Obviously, even they wouldn't say something as outrageously untrue as, "Hans Blix is a warmongerer!"

Why isn't Clinton explaining herself better? Is it guilt? What? "If I knew then what I know now" just sounds awful.

Extra: If the OFB pull Kyl-Lieberman, here are some good posts: basically, Obama is no different than Clinton on Iran.

Any Democrats running? No?

As I keep saying, there are NO Democrats running for President. The media has hounded them all out. All we have are three moderate Republicans.

There is no one to vote for that represents the values of the Democratic Party.

Please remain stationary to facilitate targeting.

Three moderate Republicans?

I disagree, McCain is an extreme authoritarian Republican, he is in no way moderate.

yup-2 Rockefeller/Lindsay Repubs and a rightwinger

(at least that's what they were called when they used to exist)
