The village is a sack of pus waiting to burst

What Glenn said:

The political class has made as clear as can be that it is intent on supporting a limitless erosion of core constitutional liberties and the creation of a two-tiered justice system that exempts the political elite from the rule of law. Neither the "opposition party" nor the establishment media are the slightest bit interested in, or capable of, stopping any of that. Battling against that is the responsibility of citizens who find these political trends dangerous and intolerable.

Fuck you, Harry. Fuck you, Nancy. Fuck you, Tom. Fuck you, Obama.

And, alas, fuck you too, Hillary. Do something, wouldja?

NOTE Ya know, I had these posts set up under the heading of "Bush Warrantless Surveillance." How wrong I was, eh? They're all in on it. They don't even think it's a problem.

unfortunately...

Glennzilla is just as much a part of the village as the rest of the people he condemns --- his willingness to ignore the blantant sexism aimed at Clinton -- and his egregiously ugly accusation of racism on the part of the Clinton campaign -- helped to guarantee that the "Village" would win...

Don't blame Clinton -- If Glennzilla had any intellectual integrity, he would have been calling out Obama for months (and lets face it, as the leader of the party, this FISA debacle could not be happening without his acquiescence).

As long as the A-listers continue to insist that Obama must be supported so that McCain can be defeated, they are acting consistent with the will of the Village itself, which considers Clinton public enemy number one.

When Glenn, and Christie, and Jane, and Digby, and Drum, and Duncan, and Jeralyn and everyone else who claims to care about civil liberties says NOBAMA!, I'll begin to take their wailing, hair-pulling, and teeth-gnashing seriously. Until them, its all just a kabuki dance.

Our opponents fight fiercely

While the ones on "our side" fight just well enough to lose.

Coinky-dink?

Called Clinton's DC office about hr ago, Told she will vote NO

on FISA bill. The overall bill.

I double checked with the telephone answering person, triple checked--she said defintely overall NO vote from Hillary.

I thanked her and Sen. Clinton, then asked if Clinton could give Obama a spine transplant.... We both laughed, but I got no response to that...way too politically dangerous.

Has anyone else called Clinton's offices? Got this answer?

I'm a bit nervous, as it's all too easy for things to change or for the person manning the phone to have misunderstood or been given incorrect info.

Please call! 202 224-4451. Took me awhile to get through, first busies, then had to hold. But a human did answer. Do feel really nervous--told tel rep that I was going to disseminate this info on blogs and wanted to accurate. She assured me the No vote was definite.

Do call! Keep up the encouragement.

I just called....

... and the answer I got was that she was definitely against retroactive immunity for the telcos (which the phone person rattled right off). I said "That means she'll vote No," then? And they wouldn't say. It may be the problem was I didn't mention the bill number. Or the situation may be dynamic.

[x] Very tepidly voting for Obama [ ] ?????. [ ] Any mullah-sucking billionaire-teabagging torture-loving pus-encrusted spawn of Cthulhu, bless his (R) heart.

I've called her each time this came up--

her and Schumer--they're both voting NO.

Congress has a 9% approval rating -- ugh -- http://rasmussenreports.com/public_conte...

Hooray for Clinton

I am gleefully awaiting netroots reaction when Clinton keeps her promise and Obama breaks his.

meanwhile, it's everyone else's fault that Obama

isn't clear on anything and changes his positions on everything--not his--

"... “Look, let me talk about the broader issue, this whole notion that I am shifting to the center,” he said. “The people who say this apparently haven’t been listening to me.”

To this, he adds, parenthetically: “And I must say some of this is my friends on the left” and those in the media. ..." -- http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/...

What lambert said

And let me guess what will be the coverage tomorrow: "Today the Senate will vote on a ZOMG LARA LOGAN IS PREGGERS!!!!!1111!!!11!!!"

And one other thing

Barnacle to Reid: "Right back atcha".

as they screen a (fictitious) "daring rescue" 24/7 too--

"A report from Swiss public radio that $20 million was paid to release three American hostages, Ingrid Betancourt, and 11 Colombian soldiers and police officers is being pretty much roundly ignored in the United States.

Not so the case in the UK, where the Times reported the allegation on July 4th:

But while she [Betancourt] was still in the air, the Swiss radio station RSR broadcast a report questioning the official version of the operation to free Ms Betancourt and 14 other hostages – saying that money, not cunning, had clinched their freedom.

According to Bogota, the hostages were freed in an elaborate ruse by Colombian intelligence agents who had infiltrated the Marxist Farc rebels holding them.

But RSR said that the 15 hostages “were in reality ransomed for a high price, and the whole operation afterwards was a set-up". Citing a source "close to the events, reliable and tested many times in recent years", it said that the United States – which had three citizens among those freed – was behind the deal and put the price at $20 million. ..."
