There was never a better time to run as an independent

Bob Brigham has a great article at MyDD about Obama's dropping poll numbers and its significance for the Democrats in the upcoming midterms. For my the most interesting part was the discussion of the definition of the base. Brigham shares my view that the base is your present volunteers and the highly politically motivated activists who are the talent pool for your volunteers.

Versailles is completely out of touch with the people who elected them and don't see that their volunteers are walking away. Some are discouraged and will stay out of the midterms, but at lease some could be the volunteer base of third party candidates who know how to reach out to them.

Let a 1000 Bernie Sanders bloom.

Where's my fucking pony?

Has anyone picked up the internet tradition of celebrating the lowering of presidential poll numbers by bestowing a gift pony?

Seems awfully appropriate.

Now, unlike Rush Limbaugh, I didn't want Obama to fail (us). Just not surprised, and gratified to see more people waking up and smelling the coffee.

Good reading! Favorite quote: What could go wrong?
Beyond war, inflation, the end of the technology/productivity wave, and financial collapse, we think the most potent and short-term threat would be societies demanding a more ‘equitable’ share of wealth.
