it's so true, sadly--
and will be ignored by the boys, i'm sure.
they don't even recognize sexism when it's their own, let alone from others.
It isn’t that they
It isn't that they don't recognize it in themselves. They just don't care. They align with power. If we are really honest a woman in this culture, no matter what she accomplishes,is not a symbol of power. So any woman can be s--t on.
So we get an education, we teach, we nurse, we doctor, we vote, we have children, we run homes with or without men, we organize and help accomplish the goals of businesses, governments and churches run by men. But, in reality it isn't respected. In our hearts we know this true. But, this primary season held up the mirror for us. And yes it hurts to see things as they really are. But, the good thing is we have been shaken awake (violently too). So what do we want to do now? For me I obviously need to finish the work started by my mother, grandmother, great-grandmother .....
you're right--look at this--

That VV cover really is the mirror I spoke of above isn't it?! I may print it just so I never get too comfortable and go back to sleep again regarding the view of women in this culture.
Look at the bright side
Posts like that can be written.
My daughter has it better than my mother did.
It may be a hell of a long way from perfection, but it's progress.
BTW - I'm one of the "boys" (but not one of the "Boiz")

myiq2xu - What was written? I cannot read anything. . .
As someone who has been a victim of abuse in the past, that picture made me sick and I couldn't get beyond it. What then should I read? And why?
Edited to add: I don't expect people to cater to my personal issues, especially when it comes to freedom of the press or freedom of speech. That was just a very powerful trigger.
