Times shits the bed on Bush warrantless surveillance

Very well paid anti-Democratic stenographer Mark Mazetti:

The decision on the documents, which Mr. Gonzales confirmed Wednesday, will let members of the House and Senate intelligence committees, as well as a few Congressional leaders, review those court orders to determine whether the administration had significantly changed the program by putting it under the authority of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court.

Wrong. Bush's warrantless surveillance program has always been under the authority of FISA, and hence of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court.

Bush simply ignored the law--having broken the law more than 30 times, acccording to Judge Taylor in ACLU vs NSA, a decision WaPo's stenographer oddly, or not, does not mention.

NOTE Nobody gets this fact right. Not WaPo, for example. And the people who do get the facts right don't get the implications right: That we are in a Constitutional crisis driven by a lawless executive.

UPDATE NPR is teh suck on warrantless surveillance, too. What a surprise.

Good reading! Favorite quote: What could go wrong?
Beyond war, inflation, the end of the technology/productivity wave, and financial collapse, we think the most potent and short-term threat would be societies demanding a more ‘equitable’ share of wealth.
