I am planning a post listing all candidates for the House of Representatives who support a single payer system, so far I have Jackie Spier, John Conyers, and Dennis Kucinch. I am sure there must be more. If you know of any, please put their names and links to there website in the comments.

not sure if they're all candidates

but here’s the official list of all the representatives who co-sponsored hr 676

also, i didn’t see sherrrod brown on that list, but he’s pro-single-payer too.

thanks

that will give material for Saturday’s post

sigh...

Single-payer is not to be confused with universal coverage, which Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama both support. In fact, in a recent debate, when Clinton raised the issue of single-payer, the audience interrupted with applause. She immediately countered, “I know a lot of people favor (it), but for many reasons (it) is difficult to achieve.”

how many reasons? how about the 200,000+ employees or the $200 billion in revenue last year? and that’s just the top 13 companies according to forbes.

we spent $2.3 trillion total on health care in the u.s. last year. what industry in its right mind would let itself be kept away from that pie?

i wasn’t especially taken with john edwards at first, but he won my vote when he said “if you let them have a seat at the table, they’ll eat all the food” and “if congress hasn’t passed universal health care 6 months after i’m elected, i’ll take their health insurance benefits away.” nothing like having a candidate who knows exactly where to place the blame: on the lobbyists with too much money and the congresspersons with not enough spine [or not enough brains, maybe].

thanks for all your posts

here, please do steal anything if you find it useful. i’m starting to feel about health care the way you feel about which candidate to vote for.

that didn't work....
