it's not just the health insurance companies.
it's also the FDA, the NIH, the american medical association (AMA), the national cancer institute (NCI), and the american cancer society (ACS). for those who want to know more about the gianormous mindfuck that is our country's health care system, i highly recommend this book, politics in healing. the problem has only gotten bigger and more out of control in the 15 years since hillary's health care proposal was defeated by republicans and "dems" like obama.
the dem party used to care about this kind of stuff. now, apparently, they'd rather spend their time and resources on more worthwhile things--like nominating a presidential candidate who doesn't give a shit about healthcare. awesome!
not to worry
if the June 19 National Day of Action goes well, other demonstrations will ensue. It is only question of time before the pharmaceuticals, hospitals and all the players in the health neglect system.
