Pennsylvania Legislature has 2 bills on health plan
If Congress fails to pass a federal single-payer program, a single-payer system could happen quickly in Pennsylvania, California and Illinois, Knoche said. The Canadian national health care system started in a single province and spread individually to all others.
Single-payer health care in several states could help move the national political will toward a national system, Knoche said.

Yeah, it's going to be much harder in
some ways in MA because of the stupid deforms. However, one saving grace, is our state is near unison in support of single payer(the people not the pols) and since we have so many insured we have the infrastructure ready to go. It would be a fairly easy transition. I am certainly getting more involved in my state efforts for single payer here.

Pennsylvania single payer
I stumbled upon this page regarding the Pennsylvania single-payer plan a few weeks ago. (I had had no idea about single-payer in Pennsylvania.) The benefits package is, um, pretty impressive.
A "second rally" for single payer is set for October in the state capital. (No idea where or when the first rally was.)

It just occurred to me that there's a possible advantage in such
an extensive benefit list, though I hate to think like this: it gives Republicans fat to trim without getting rid of the final bill. This could be important, since apparently the upper house of the state legislature is controlled by the Republicans. I think it might be possible to jettison certain benefits, like dental care, to appease them while still allowing them to agree to vote for a bill.
Nothing is true; everything is permitted.
Thanks for the Info!
I live in PA. Will try to follow up on this - go to rally if I can.
