Karl Rove is not leaving DC to write a book, and since his one kid’s in college, I wager the “family” excuse is also unusually thin. What’s he up to now, and who’s his target?
Shudder.
Watch your backs, ladies and gentlemen.
Also your wallets.
If he goes (back) to work for Rupert Murdoch, ugliness will follow.
Uh oh ... *now* what's he up to?

Ailes is to Fox News
As Rove will be to WSJ?
But all the pundits told us that Rupert would NEVER diminish the WSJ brand that way.
Watch your backs, indeed.

I thought it was obvious.
Rove is leaving to become the curator of the Bush Presidential Library, where he will finish his true job of ensuring that the (myth of) the Bush Presidency (and his role in it) is preserved for future generations.
Slinking off the sinking ship
Karl likes winning, he has no stomach for losing. This administration is headed for big, uncontrollable trouble both at home and abroad. Karl has stepped off, headed for home, he wants to be able to say it was all fine when he left and look how it went to hell without me there to guide things.
If there was one sure sign that the wheels are about to all come off, this is it.
From the Department of Implausible Excuses
AP:
“Milking the goat…”
Great metaphor…
Anyhow, that excuse is about as plausible as Rove figuring out he needs to spend more time with his family, in August (and then planning first to go off and shoot doves in Texas, and only then return to DC and leave for Florida with his beard, uh, wife.)
NOTE Googling Gannon+”book deal” yields no hits, so that’s not it…

Rove milking goats in Alabama
Please let this little tidbit be true, and please let it come to something, for a change.

Google Guckert + book deal
Apparently his book two years in the making is due out in September.
(You can’t make this stuff up, unless someone actually did)

JG:
Could they have quit paying the hush money? Is old Gannon trying to cash out while he could still sell some books? Is JG trying to beat Flint to the punch?
"Guckert" -- No wonder he changed it
You may have it there, intranets. I can actually believe he’d out Rove (though notice he does say “…pose as objective journalists,” which Rove wasn’t).
I actually have a sneaking liking for the man. At least he’s resilient!

resilient?
So is staph, drug resistant TB, etc.
(I do love JG because my secret wish is that the Bush library is one day reduced to a TV and VCR in FEMA trailer with the video of Bush kissing and touching bald heads on a loop.)
