Victory Lap?

cindy

Just saw Cindy Sheehan on Market St. in SF doing some last-minute campaigning.

This morning I voted for her (as opposed to Leader Nance), Obama (happily but skeptically), no on Prop. 8 (anti-Ghey-marriage), and yes on naming the city sewage plant in honor of George W. Bush.

dreams of sewage plants

My secret hope list

1. George W. Bush Sewage Treatment Plant
2. Defeat of Prop 8
3. Representative El Tinklenberg (no mas Bachmann)
4. Senator Al Franken

I'm feeling greedy, but I think three of four would be a suitable outcome.

You _might_ get 1 out of 4 if you keep wishing for ponies.

Well, you're not getting 2, 3 or 4, as of 4AM.

I think the useful model for this election is, "People clung to their wingnut ways, but voted for the black guy, so the map looks really blue."

It all feels very 1980 to me this evening...

Yeah, Morning in America-esque

As I watched Obama making his speech on stage, everything felt and sounded so tinged with "Morning in America." Everyone else saw the first black president, and all I could see was a slightly more populist-sounding Reagan, if I'm being honest. But, then again, Reagan-chic is all the rage, these days. This kind of rhetoric has always made me uneasy. Perhaps, I'm just allergic to change and hope if I'm to believe what the OFB says...

But, we've always been at war with Eastasia...

Good luck on the naming question, but if it doesn't pass,

push for " SCLM sewage treatment/novelization plant" as an alternative name.
( Strangely enough, there's a bond question on the ballot for improving sewage treatment infrastructure in my neck of the woods in PA.)

THB!

May all your wishes come true. Good luck in the Northlands!

WRhouse: the best argument I heard against re-naming the sewage plant is that it would start malfunctioning terribly just by having Bush's name in the proximity.

Sort of throwing up in revulsion to be

associated with number 43?

Love to See Sheehan

do well and make a strong showing. Winning is too much to expect, but putting a little fear into these people is a good thing.

Did Pelosi have to do much campaigning or spend much money?

"Do what you feel in your heart to be right -- for you'll be criticized anyway. You'll be damned if you do, and damned if you don't. " - Eleanor Roosevelt

I wish I did not get too busy to move

to San Francisco before the election, so I could vote for Cindy and on the sewage plant renaming.

19% for Sheehan?

is that right? that's wonderful!
