If you have "no place to go," come here!

Vitter's Madame: "Most of the clients who wanted to be dominated were Republicans."

Via Andrew Sullivan, Jeanette Maier, whose small business Senator David Vitter (R-Canal Street Brothel) patronized, tells her story:

Some of the fantasies at the Canal Street Brothel got a little rough. For those who liked that kind of stuff, there were whips, chains and a lot of leather. Jeanette says that most of the clients who wanted to be dominated were Republicans. She cracks a smile, then adds, "They wanted to be spanked and tortured and wear stockings--Republicans have impeccable taste in silk stockings--and these are the people who run our country."

(As an aside, that means that the Republicans must be terribly frustrated by the Democrats' overly-gentle approach, because they're not getting what they really, really want, even though they can't admit it to themselves. Maybe Dean Broder should recommend that Harry Reid shackle Mitch McConnell right there on the Senate Floor, then call for a closed session and, er, undertake a series of tricky procedural moves...)

Now, I really don't care what these guys do, although the base--assuming that the base isn't, en masse, chaining itself up and applying the lash, just like you saw in The Passion... Oh, wait. Let's just not go there. Reboot.

I don't really care what kind of pain-, humiliation-, and torture-filled dramas the Republicans enact in the privacy of their own bedrooms, and I'd sure like it if they left me alone to do what I want to do in mine. And the Jeannette Maiers and Deborah Palreys of this world work a lot less evil than, say, Lynne Cheney, let alone Shooter.

So, yawn? Not exactly. The problems come when Republicans confuse abuse, torture, and sex as fantasies in private with abuse, torture and sex out--as they say--in the public square.

Because then the public square starts looking like this:

[Abu Ghraib]

That's a torture room at Abu Ghraib, which Moderate Republican Christopher Shays called a sex ring, and conservative shouting head Rush Limbaugh called blowing off steam.

Why would these fully paid up Republicans confuse torture with sex? Because they're authoritarians. To them, there is no confusion: Sex, pain, abuse, humiliation are all the same thing. They get off on it. (Strap the dog on top of the car, and let it crap itself for a few hundred miles. Same mentality exactly.)

It's the abuse of power, stupid.

If you're an authoritarian Senator who has a creepy yen for young teen pages under your care, abuse your power to get near them. "Don't forget to measure for me; "Can I have a kiss goodnight?" (Mark Foley, R-Neverland, and Bush faimly friend) "Sick, sick, sick", commented one of Foley's victims who was willing to talk.

If you're an authoritarian Christianist so-called pastor, or priest, abuse those under your care, especially the kids.

In fact, if you're a Republican, IOKIYAR, on a gargantuan, mind-boggling scale.

We already knew the entire authoritarian political class gets off on torture as shown on 24, but Maier's story is the first indication I've seen that the Republicans actually act out their fantasies.

So, you have to ask:

Do Republicans think torture works, because, in their fantasies and in their brothels, torture gets them hard and makes them cum?

It would be irresponsible not to speculate...

NOTE The world of dominance and submission, sadism, masochism, et cetera, is not my world. So I welcome any thoughts and clarifications from those more knowledgeable than I am.

UPDATE Wear a diaper?!?! Scat, Republicans! Scat! Scat!

UPDATE Of course, the NOLA blogs are all over this like a cheap suit. Just go read the locals.

Uncivil, you say? Why no, I reply: this is straight off the police blottter:

Titusville police say they have arrested Florida State Rep. Robert "Bob" Allen, of Merrit Island, on second degree misdemeanor charges for soliciation for prostitution.

Allen, 48, was arrested Wednesday afternoon at Veteran's Memorial Park on East Broad St. in Titusville.

The park was under surveillance by a detail of undercover police officers.

Officers say they noticed Allen acting suspicious as he went in and out of the men's restroom 3 times.

Minutes later, he solicited an undercover male officer inside the restroom, offering to perform oral sex for $20.

Officers realized he was a public figure after the arrest. Allen, a Republican, represents District 32 of the State House of Representatives."

Emphasis added. And okay, okay, this is technically not off the police blotter (do police still use blotters anymore? If so, why? Do they take notes with quill pens?) but the Tallahassee (ahem) Democrat.

It is worth noting that many many papers in the south have "Democrat" as part or all of their names for reasons going back to the Reconstruction era when the "Party of Lincoln," was anathema to one and all.

Oh, and as an unkind commenter on the matter over at TPM is said to have pointed out,

Best part is, his [Allen's] official bio lists his main hobby as: "water sports."

And Vitter was a fan of "fishing rodeos." I think Republican public officials should just, on general principles, be kept away from liquids of all sorts until we can sort this matter out.

But seriously, I don't see how giving a blowjob for $20 instills any sense of fiscal responsibility. What's wrong with these people?

It's time for Momma Nancy to don the dominatrix gear and start whipping the rethugs into line! ( I can sooooo see her with thighhigh stillettos and a bullwhip ) That's either something I saw at Zaius Nation once, or an SNL skit, but hey, it works. Put Impeachment back on the table, Madame Speaker, and ball gag those buffoons.

But barring that, maybe just some loud public ridicule anytime one of them says something stupid might be just as effective in letting them know they are the subbies.

Note: It's not spelled "come"--it's spelled "cum."

Not sure why. Run it by Rove--maybe he knows.

Urban Dictionary has both spellings.

Normally I regard the substitution of "cum" for "come" as a vulgar neologism, but for you, MJS--and for our grovelling friends across the aisle--anything.

We have always had men hanging out in back alleys who are known for reputations of kinky sex. Who in the hell elected them to congress?

Cast the first stone, and all.

I do care that they're legislating, and building entire political careers, on trashing behavior they themselves indulge in.

It's like they can't let it alone, or something...

What kind of REPUBLICAN freaks do we have in Washington? I can only wonder if Lee Greenwood is still proud to be an American? From the Commander-In-Decider guy, right down the line.
Never in my lifetime have I heard of so many freakazoids. Proud to be an American - NOT.
