Loso == "low society," the opposite of hiso, "high society."

Naturally, and as usual, the poor make the best music (at least for dancing, drinking, and messing about. I like the mix of ages in the crowd; note this is thought appropriate for a karaoke video, very much unlike the US).

Mor lam, which MsExPat (among others) turned me on to, is sociologically a lot like MoTown: Fueled by an rural-to-metropolitan, agriculture-to-industry, dark skin/light skin, North/South (here) migration, a savage social gradient, and a musical industry marked by disposable artists, fly-by-night management, thieving record companies, constant touring, and out of it all, a very few great, great artists.
