NOTE Please note that the issue of whether the VP selection process was more or less amicable is a personality-driven press narrative. The power struggle in the party would continue whether relations were cordial and collegial or not. (Though it would be remarkable if they were, given the tenor of the primary.)

In today's Democratic Party, only the present-now and near-future matter. Democrats didn't exist before Obama, only pale reflections of Democrats. Obama is the convergence of all things Democratic.
