Both D's and R's are saying this all being done for Main Street-
the taxpayers won't lose money, our ATM cards will keep on working, grandparents won't lose their pensions (well, actually, many already have bcz the laws let corporations play games and get out of pension obligations), etc., etc. It's all go good! And will be so bad without this legislation NOW, NOW, NOW.
I realize listening to the passionately sincere Dems defending getting this money to the financial sector that the Dems have unofficially adopted Trickle Down Economics.
We are so fucked.
Now I must do RL.
I. Am. So. Fucking. Tired.
of Democrats and Republicans getting together in secret and working out a deal where there will be no accountability for Democrats and Republicans. And this is what it's about for them - trying to cover all of their own asses. As on FISA, that's what's going on here. We have an opposition party that's compromised and so can no longer oppose, they must cut deals instead.

What's more important? Our calls or banker's calls? My guess
...bankers.
“No banker left behind” has been the sarcastic tag pinned by critics the $700 billion bailout bill currently in Congress. One online petition protesting the bill currently has just over 5,000 signatures.
"The U.S. Congress is voting on the proposed bill. Ahead of the effort, Wall Street has been lobbying like there’s no tomorrow. (Which, considering the history of the past three weeks, there may not be.) Congress is still voting: 227 say no and 206 say yes right now. As the “No” votes rolled in, the Dow was down nearly 700 points at the grimmest point, showing that the market is really depending on this bailout bill."
227/206 @ 1:36 p.m. Where are we now?

I love this job!
I love this job!
What does a banker call $700 billion dollars?
Just rewards.
