To spare the rest of you the horror of watching the Republican Debate of last night, I took the time (in small doses) to do so.
[I had to request Lambert's "hon" to pass me the bucket on numerous occasions]
In true Fox "News" style - we decided, and they failed to report.
During the post-debate spin, Fox News ran tallies of viewers' opinions of which candidate won.
Much to Sean Hannity's chagrin, Ron Paul did very well - again. But you won't see the final results on FoxNews.com. It won't show up there until someone from the White House sends a fax about how they should spin the results.
The final tally - without interference:
Ron Paul - 33%
Mike Huckabee - 18%
Rudy Giuliani - 15%
John McCain - 14%
Mitt Romney - 12%
Duncan Hunter - 2%
Tom Tancredo - 2%
Sam Brownback - 1%
In true Fox News style, they entitled the final tally graphic:
Tonight's Winner ?
Fox News producers seem to always resort to the same tactic - whenever they disagree - or want to float a faulty argument, "just throw a question mark at the end."
No question - the real winner of last night's Republican debate was "None of the Above."

oh, jeebus
huck comes in at #2? 'cause you're right, they'll never let paul get the nom, never. he's too anti war. but huck, the kinder, gentler theocrat? yeah, if he's the one who will make the diebold results look legit, then they will let him thru. and he's very icky.
It’s hilarious, because
It's hilarious, because if we nominate Hillary, they could point to all those stories of her proclaiming that there will troops in Iraq in 2017 if she's elected, and run Ron Paul for a landslide.
Americans will vote for ANYONE they think is against this war, and I think Democrats should realize that.
The Reason Neither Party Will Nominate An Anti-War Candidate?
"Americans will vote for ANYONE they think is against this war, and I think Democrats should realize that."
Well, it seemed to be true in '06, anyway.
Actually, while I think that is true now, i doubt it will hold up after the next 'terra' attack, or if the
terra' climate grows.
Then Murkins will vote for whomsoever they think will best 'protect' 'em....
we'll see, woody
a lot of people keep saying to me that a terror attack would make republicans look worse. people aren't so excited about heroic suffering for the Cause anymore.
the troops aren't happy, their families aren't happy, the middle class isn't happy, and small business isn't happy. toss in katrina victims and others who've suffered directly from bush gov't inaction and incompetence, i wonder if in fact another terror attack wouldn't seal republican fates for a generation. it could go either way, that's all i'm saying.
It can go either way IFF
(if and only iff) the Democrats are prepared to make the play when the opportunity arrives.
I don't, at this point, have a lot of faith that this will happen, and Hillary's comments didn't help at all.

Huckabee is the only one that concerns me
Shit, the man lost weight! And he plays the guitar! And he sounds like Bill Clinton, so he must be a moderate!
My money's on him, because I think he's going to be the only one left standing after they all fall to pieces. Thompson's going on the teebee because he can't stand physical scrutiny for long periods, Guiliani is going to find out people hate New York whether he tamed it or not (and wait til the oppo comes out), the base hates McCain, Romney is going to blow through a bundle but he's hinky and "doesn't share our values" ... Get ready for Huckabee who, with the VRWC
and the press on his side and normalizing him, will be formidable.
Oh, and they'll never nominate Ron Paul in a million years, not because he's a libtard, which he is, but because that squeaky voice is going to get wearing awfully fast.
