What the heck is wrong with the Turks, anyhow?

Get a load of this:

Tensions mounted along the Iraqi-Turkish border on Monday as the Turkish government sought parliamentary approval for authorizing military incursions into northern Iraq.

The vote in Parliament would permit Turkish armed forces to cross the border in pursuit of Kurdish rebels who launch raids into Turkish territory from Iraqi Kurdistan.

What are they thinking? What's wrong with them?

Everybody knows you don't need so-called legislative "approval" to invade another country--the President can do that all on his own, under the extremely Constitutional Theory Of We Get To Do Whatever The Fuck We Want!

Don't they understand how democracy works?

Hell, lb, Turks are crossing into Iraq every day

chasing and killing Kurds...This would merely be a formal ratification of on-going policy.
What's gonna be fun is when a bunch of Turks opens up on a bunch of 1) our guys or 2) "our' Kurds...
The Turks are just about as well armed, and provisioned, and trained (sans nukes, of curse) as the Israelis...and way more numerous...
