What's your pitch?

Someone on DU says he’s an undecided NC voter, and he wants to hear pitches for each candidate.

How would you respond? Here’s what I rattled off…

Hillary:
* Prioritizes social programs
* Wonky, wants to make government work, and she gets down to details
* Committed to Universal Healthcare
* Tough
* Knows who the VRWC is, and she’s pissed
* Proud to be a Democrat
* Despite all the slime thrown at her, unequivocally pledges her support to party unity if she’s not the nominee (and she gets shouted down by Obama fans)
* Has won the big swing states and states that add up to more electoral votes

Obama:
* Constantly belittles progressives (“bickering partisans,” “Chablis-drinking limousine liberals”) and praises GOP (“party of ideas”)
* Builds whole campaign on a soothing but disempowering lie — a claim that the biggest problem we face is partisanship. The biggest problem we face is conservatism/neo-conservatism.
* Cites “socialized medicine” as an extremist lefty position
* Truthy, glides by on vaporous catch phrases
* His “movement” is about… what is his movement about?
* Disrespects the separation of church and state (brochure says he was “Called to Christ” and “Called to Serve”)
* Won’t even stand up for his friend and mentor. Will he stand up for you?
* Trumps up charges that fellow Democrats are racists
* From “you’re likable enough” on down has fostered a kind of “unity” that only exists if he wins
* His biggest claim to fame is being against the Iraq war. Funny, since he got into the Senate, he hasn’t voted that way.
* His second biggest claim to fame is not bothering to vote against Kyl-Lieberman
* Tried to cheat his way to 50% of MI and FL delegates, even though he’s not very popular in those states
* Has built his delegate lead on gaming the caucuses, especially in states the Democrats can’t win. Won’t be much help against McCain.
* Has insulted working-class voters. Won’t be much help against McCain.

My elevator speech

Hillary wants to make government work for you again. And she knows how, because she knows how to listen.

[x] Any (D) in the general. [ ] Any mullah-sucking billionaire-teabagging torture-loving pus-encrusted spawn of Cthulhu, bless his (R) heart.

my pitch

Hillary Clinton’s campaign has been about policy, and her experience and understanding of how politics and the White House works.

Barack Obama’s campaign has been about “unity” and his ability to bring people together to achieve change.

We’re in the middle of a campaign that is dividing the Democratic party along racial and demographic lines.

While there is no guarantee that Clinton can keep her promises, we have all the evidence we need that Obama’s “unity” pitch is essentially fraudulent, given the current state of the campaign. Even if you blame Clinton for the divisions in the party, the fact remains that the special interests will work just as hard, and fight even “dirtier” than Clinton has, to create “division” to prevent Obama from achieving his ends.

In other words, this campaign has shown that the core rationale for supporting Obama is a crock.

Short and sweet

Bush has made a mess of things and Hillary is the most qualified candidate to stabilze the country and end the war. Her experience that she earned in her husband’s administration make her to best candidate to hit the ground running on her first day in office. We have eight years of bad government to reverse before we can take the country forward again and Hillary has the knowledge base and the intelligence to know how to drive the mechinisms of government.

See, all positive. Not a word about Obama. And all of it true.

My Pitch

Is like lambert’s, that she’s ready to make government work again. I also usually add that her healthcare plan is not only universal, it would give all Americans access to the same health insurance I get as a federal employee. I have good insurance and I want all Americans to have it, too.

My pitch

She cares about working people. Obama does not.
She wants universal health care. Obama does not.
She has experience. She has courage. Obama does not.
She fights. She leads. Obama does not.
AND
She does not need sleep. Obama does.

How 'Bout Some Links, Vastleft?

Instead of more partisan conclusions masquerading as arguments?

Particularly in the Obama section: “belittles”, “disempowering lie”, “lefty position”,”Truthy”, “disrespects”, “trumps”, “cheat”, “gaming” and “insulted.”

Please don’t point me to other opinions - there are enough of those.

But why bother, you are preaching to the chior, eh?

Shane-O, sorry my two-year project of documenting

What Obama has had to say instead of asking for my vote has been insufficient for you.

There are shitloads of examples embedded in posts like these, combined with *horrors* opinion and analysis:
