Single-payer system could remove burden from employers
Flat out, businesses should not be involved in providing employee health care at all, but that leaves either individual insurance or a public pool. Rockland councilor proposes resolution supporting universal healthcare for Americans
Elizabeth "Lizzie" Dickerson is a first term city councilor in my town of Rockland. I've known her as an acquaintance for many years now - from when I shopped at the Good Tern Coop when it was still on South Main Street.
I learned that Councilor Dickerson would be proposing a resolution this evening to the Rockland City Council, to be placed on the agenda of that body's next meeting. A resolution "Supporting Universal Healthcare for Americans."
