Michelle Obama:

"The way this campaign has been run is the way we need to be forever," Obama said.

Good to know that Michelle's not tired of the Bataan Death March, eh?

But this small-d democrat is irresistibly reminded of the following once-famous quotation:

Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless. If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face -- forever.'

Now, I have no doubt that the OFB -- Bless Their Hearts -- will give me plenty of opportunities to experience being trampled when the appropriate time comes. But that's not really the kind of trampling I had in mind. I meant:

Truth trampled by the boot of truthiness.

Secret ballot election voters trampled by the boot of the unrepresentative caucus system.

Caucus voters trampled by the boots of bullies.

All voters trampled by the boot of vote suppression in the press.

All voters trampled by the boots of party hacks.

Women trampled by the boot of misogyny.

Life-long Democrats trampled by the boots of false charges of racism.

That'll do to go on with. You can read all of Michelle's fine words in the full quote at the link, but operationally, in practice, the boots of Chicago-style politics are what she's recommending and endorsing. (The difference between what she says and what the Obama Movement does; now that's truly Orwellian.) I mean, who are you gonna believe? Michelle, or your lyin eyes?

Yeah, I'm sure looking forward to the day when the Obama Movement's fancy schmancy social networking software sends somebody out to my house for a friendly visit so see if I'm giving my Unity Pony its proper care and feeding.

Aren't you?

Which is, at least, true. I'm just disappointed in who the liars turned out to be.

i thought Teresa Kerry had an attitude, but

this blatant bs has got to stop...even GOP first ladies and prospective ones aren't as openly full of it---even Nancy!!! wasn't.

yes, lambert

there is that tinge, that haze, that faint boot beat of suppression,

in the obama campaign,

isn't there.

i'm expecting it will increase over time.

republicans call this "party discipline";

oh to what heights it has taken them.

If Obama is the nominee (yes, I said IF).....

because I still look for miracles from Hill and Bill (I just keep thinking that time is not O-man's friend). But, if there is no intervention, I will look forward to seeing how the repubs handle Chicago campaigning.

Good reading! Favorite quote: What could go wrong?
Beyond war, inflation, the end of the technology/productivity wave, and financial collapse, we think the most potent and short-term threat would be societies demanding a more ‘equitable’ share of wealth.
