Michael Steele got a fundraising mailer out immediately:
[Specter's] defection to the Democrat Party puts the Democrats in an almost unstoppable position to pass Obama's destructive agenda of income redistribution, health care nationalization, and a massive expansion of entitlements.

As a Maryland resident, I would like to apologize
for Michael Steele now being on a national stage...but at least he's not in the Senate (thank you, Ben Cardin!).
But I digress.
Does Steele know Arlen Specter? Has he paid any attention at all?
Specter's doing a Lieberman (if I can't win as a Republican - no problem - I'll run as a Democrat...yeah..that's the ticket!), he's not going to help the Democratic party; I'm not sure, but Specter's picture might appear in the dictionary as an illustration for the word "craven."
And honest to God I wish I understood why Obama is seen as such a liberal - maybe to Republicans like Steele, everyone with a (D) after their name must be a liberal.
If only.
I hope I'm wrong, but I just have this sinking feeling that Obama is going to make us wish he had kept health care reform off the table.

I laugh whenever I hear someone calling Obama a socialist. We should be so lucky!
